Never have Osman Samiuddin's words been more true:

Shoaib is crying that he never took bribes but then countless of times he walks out on his team in a midle of a game when his team needs him the most, this I believe is as bad as accepting money to underperform.

MQM ,that party headed by that disgusting person Altaf Hussain ,isn't it ? Shoaib should be ashamed of himself in accepting such support from a hardcore criminal who killed a lot of innocent people .

wow this whole issue got ''politicised '' for what ? And PCB is such a joke ,never do anything sensible . Basically allowed him to walk freely off much bigger crimes than this .

I have full respect for Imran Khan the cricketer .But u know he did the biggest mistake of his life by entering into politics . Since then he doesn't make any sense even in cricket related matters .Obviously not his fault ,naturally he lost his wisdom and ability to talk properly like any other politician.

If exiled politicians can return back to Pakistan for far worse offenses, and run for election, then whats the big deal if Shoaib gets to do the same for merely a sport.

FWIW, I sometimes wonder how well Shoaib would have performed had he played under Imrans guidance and leadership.

Might as well just have said "read nightprowler10's sig", it's been in there for the past 15 months. Maybe longer.

Three points to make:

1) The PCB should have thought harder about the implications of a five year ban. They lost their opportunity for proper justification after Asif-bat-gate. Banning someone for five years for comments against the board is ludicrous and they should have known that they'd be met with strong opposition.
2) Shoaib Akhtar had a good point when he stated that the state of pitches in Pakistan is abysmal. Although reverse swing caused by the abrasiveness of the surfaces is a main source of wickets for Pakistanis, an effort should have been made by the PCB to prepare fast rather than slow pitches. I understand that pitch making is not simple, but it would seem that no effort has been made; even in the domestic game. If you look to the Indian Ranji Trophies, you will see the odd 120 plays 115 game which is an effort (albeit a half baked one) to produce green pitches.
3) Yasir Arafat looks like a very good Test potential to me.
