So, South Africa is sending the players who are not wanted by their franchises ?!
No, there are sending cricketers who don’t have franchise contracts. Reeza Hendricks and CJ de Villiers have ‘rookie’ contracts with the Eagles but neither one was selected as part of the Eagles 20/20 squad and thus were free to participate. All the rest are mere provincial players whose experience in franchise cricket could be counted upon on one hand. Considering some of the Pakistani and Bangladeshi player’s pedigree (in some case international) it really is a case of men against boys.

Should have won that, easily. This SA side shouldn't have been able to bat through the last day on our pitches and with our spinners; hate to see what Pakistan's batsmen do to them if Naeem is taking them to the cleaners.

One-day Tri-series

Scorecards

BD Academy won the first match against SA Academy by 75 runs. Imrul Kayes scored a century. Nasir Hossain, a 16 years old allrounder, scored a fifty and took three wickets.

Nasir Hossain has to be the most exciting young player we've had in our underage teams since the Aftab/Nafees/Shahadat combination of 2004.

He's going to blitz all comers in the 2010 U/19s World Cup.

After their impressive show against SA academy, BD academy is thrashed by Pak academy.

In defense of BD academy team, they missed their two key batsmen, Imrul Kayes and Naeem Islam, because of injuries.

U19 12th Man
BD Academy has knocked SA Academy out of the tournament.

Scorecard

Interestingly, BD Academy dropped both it's captain and vice captain, Nasiruddin Faruque and Jahurul Islam, and has given the captaincy to Mehrab Hossain Jr. Mehrab has done well to lead the team from the front by scoring 89 not out. Nasir Hossain continued his fine allround form in the one-day series scoring 54 not out and taking 2 wickets.

A consolatory win for SA Academy. They have won their last match of the tour, against Pak Academy, by 6 runs.

Scorecard

Chittagong pitch is generally considered very batting friendly, but, surprisingly, teams are not scoring big (not a 250+ innings yet) in this one-day series here.

Tomorrow is the dress rehearsal for the final between BD and Pak academies.

U19 12th Man
Pak Academy won the one-day series final by 39 runs.

Scorecard

Khalid Latif has been chosen as the man of the series.

Pak Academy will now play two four-day matches (starting 26 April and 2 May) in Bogra against BD Academy. Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, and Sarfraz Ahmed will replace Azharullah, Adil Raza, and Naeem Anjum for four day matches.

Reeza Hendricks had a good tour at least. Scored runs in the four day games and now in the one day games.

Still rather perplexed on how Arnold batted in the top five whilst curiously was never asked to perform his primary job which is to bowl. He just opened the bowling for South Africa U19 and was bowling at 85mph yet, here he has hardly turned his arm over.

Bangladesh academy are currently touring South Africa and playing its academy side.

First four day game is going on at the moment and with only one day remaining South Africa look set for victory...

It's a pretty strong side fronted by the South Africans. Although, Wayne Parnell who was in the squad seems to have been rested in prep for Sri Lanka, whose A team tours at the end of the month.
