New Look Australia ODI Line Up on the way?

With Gilchrist and Hogg gone, who will fill the gaps, Will Haddin open? Will Bryce McGain's batting warrant him a place in the side? most of the team is the wrong side of 30 (albeit it doesnt mean much these days) and Hayden is 36, he might be gone soon. Post your New Look Aussie ODI Line Up (i.e after Gilly, Hogg, Hayden)

    Here's mine

Shane Watson (please don't murder me for saying it, but his form seems good enough)
    James Hopes
    Ricky Ponting
    Michael Clarke
    Andrew Symonds
    Michael Hussey
    David Hussey
    Brad Haddin
    Brett Lee
    Floater (Nathan Hauritz/Mitchell Johnson/Stuart Clark/Bryce McGain/whoever else)
    Nathan Bracken

That gives you 8 bowling options in the 11

    Watson
    Hopes
    Clarke
    Symonds
    D Hussey
    Lee
    Floater
    Bracken

One bowler to short? Too much reliability on Part Timers/All Rounders? You decide

Definitely DHussey, Watson and Hopes should be given a long run at it.

    Future Australian Team IMO:

Hughes, Jaques, Ponting, Clarke, Katich, Haddin, Smith, Henriques, Lee, Hauritz/Bollinger, Bracken, Clark

Can't see that side losing a game tbh.

    Merge IMO.

Either way, flabbergasted at people calling for MacGill (who's retired from domestic OD cricket) and McGain to be called in for ODIs. There's next to no chance of either still playing in 2011.

Hauritz is not an international spinner.

But it seems in our ODI team we just pick another batsman who can also bowl spin aka Hogg, but Hauritz is not as good as hogg with the bat or ball.

Cullens alright, now that hes stopped trying to bowl medium pace and actually flighting the ball again.

    Cullen>Hauritz

That also has something to do with hauritz going to NSW...

So far off the mark it's not funny or maybe it is

    Hughes too young at present
Jaques.going to be hard enough to hold his Test spot
Katich NO contract with CA won't be called up even if he score trillions
Haddin part time stumper only Ronchi will get the nod
Hauritz poor form, poor season No hope

Ronchi is so ****ing overhyped. Plus he's barely any younger than Haddin.

Yeah agreed. Tim Paine is the one to keep an eye out for.

I'm also hoping Hartley can make runs again, he made 95 the other day, he needs to average 35-40 plus next year to put his name up in contention once again.

He is 19. Seems old enough for most other countries, though I agree that 5 FC and 3 List-A games are nowhere near enough. India went for a young team but it would be dangerous to try to emulate it for an outfit that has been as successful as Australia.

Though the entire Aussie team is getting on in years.

Rare, very rare indeed, is the 19-year-old who is up to international cricket.
