He has taken 29 wickets in WI for India A playing against the fc sides of WI.His wickets include that of R Powell,W Hinds,R Sarwan etc.He has had a great domestic season with 59 wickets in 13 matches at an avg of 18.27 in the fc competition and 15 wickets in 7 matches at an avg of 17.2 in the od competition.

With J Srinath thinking of opting out of the Dhaka tournament for resting and coaching Durham bowlers i think he has a great chance of making it to the Indian team.I am looking forward to see him in Indian colours and do well with Zaheer and Nehra.

Yeah he bowled very well in WI. I think Nehra also will not play in Ban. So his place is almost assured. I once saw his interview and he said that he modelled his action on McGrath and he concentrates on bowling line and length. He is very tall also and so he will get bounce too. I think he and Balaji will be selected. I hope that the selectors don't think about Yohannan now. He had another disaster tour.

Most of the batsman had a very poor series. I saw an interview Rayudu a couple of days back and he said that he was very dissappointed with his performance and said that the wickets there were very slow and low.

How did he get Sarwan out if Sarwan didn't play any games in the tourney?

Sarwan was injured. Even so, he would only have played one game so far and not against India 'A'.

I don't think Mongia will be dropped as there are reports that some Indian players will not playing in the Ban. tourney and so he will definately keep his place.

I just looked at Balaji's stats...he didn't do much better.

Yeah . I thought he had a good series as in the only game i followed he got a 4 wicket haul . After that he must have performed badly. But he is still much better than Yohannan . Atleast he performs very well in the domestic cricket and in the only match i saw of him and it was against Srilanka Colts which contained Dilshan,Vandort,Mubarak,etc,. he ripped through their batting order with his reverse swing. At that time he took about 4 wickets in 2 overs. So i still think he is a good bowler

Now Nehra is out for five months b'coz of a surgery which he has to do every two years.So that makes Salvi almost a certainity.

I don't exactly remember it correctly but some thing grows on his leg and every two years he has to undergo a surgery to remove that growth. I don't remeber it correctly though but it is something like that.

He started off the season with a pair and I think he got another in the second game. He scored 70 odd in one innings and 50 runs combined in 7 others.

He had 3-4 bad decisions. He complained about it in the middle of the series saying that he 3-4 bad decisions in a row and that the umpiring standard in not good. Then Ganga whom India A was going to play next said that an International Player is not supposed to say like that and he should take it in his stride.

Now Sachin has ruled himself out for this tourney and so that makes Mongia almost certain. And some more will take rest i think as India is not going to play for 3 months after this tourney.
