I have decided to continue the trend of letting CW choose who they feel is the best batsman since the year 2000 this time in the shorter format of the game.

The qualification is to have scored 2000 runs (sorry Hussey) and to have an average greater than 35. VOTE FOR 5!!!

Picked Ponting as he is the best IMO.
Hayden as he is a run machine while also incredibly aggressive.
Tendulkar the master.
Astle as he is one of my favourites and the backbone of one of the weaker nations for so long.
Gayle, an amazing opener, one his day he could make Hayden shiver in his boots (despite Gayle being Mr Cool).

I'm so bloody bias.

Ponting, Haydos, Symonds, Tenduklar and Pietersen (voted for him but not convinced in t5 batters)

Hayden, Gilchrist and Symonds are unstoppable once they get going. Absolute run machines they are.

Ponting and Clarke because theyre awesome and great to watch.

Whoops. I read the poll wrong (I thought it was batsman not ODI batsman) and picked the wrong choice. Tendulkar has a better average and a better strike rate.

School Boy/Girl Captain
What about Lara, he is one of the best batsmen of all times, if this was County batsmen i would go with Ramps though!

Virat Kohli (c)
Its more than just averages obviously, SR important too, as is who and when they have scored the runs. Anyway to pick 5:

Tendulkar
Ponting
Symonds
Bevan
Gilly

Hayden, KP and Kallis just miss out.
