It would be great to see the Africa Cup brought back with Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa A, Namibia and Uganda playing each other. It could produce a cracker of a tournament the way things are going at the moment.

Or perhaps both but either way it sounds like a good idea. Wonder when it would be scheduled though?

If I remember correctly, it was last due to be played in November of last year. November would be a good time, but Jan or Feb would also work depending on who hosted it. Kenya can really host games anywhere from July through to November before the short rains and then Jan & Feb. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya could all certainly host in terms of grounds and possibly Namibia, but I don't know if they have enough ODI grounds.

Ideally this is something that should be shared around.

It is about time the regional youth tournaments were brought back as well.

Odoyo & Ongondo really got stuck into Bermuda's top order this morning:

Odoyo 7-3-7-3
Ongondo 6-1-10-1

A bit of rebuilding going on now with Romaine and Tucker though.

Nice work from Thomas Odoyo, fast establishing himself as a class all-rounder. Backing up his Best Associate Member award with consistent performances, Kenya will be grateful.

Irving Romaine is holding his side together, currently 48*. Tucker the only other batsman to get going, but was out for 49. Hiren Varaiya continues his good work for Kenya, 2/25 off his 10 overs. A shame that Nehemiah Odhiambo couldn't get his bowling sorted today, he seems to struggle in limited overs cricket.

Poor captaincy from Steve Tikolo meant that Bermuda were able to get up to 183, which could prove tricky to knock off. Seems silly that he bowled himself for a full allotment and left Thomas Odoyo with three and Peter Ongondo with four. Malachi Jones did well at the end, and those quick runs could prove vital. Romaine finished unbeaten on 61*.

With the new structure of Associate Cricket, the regional cup like the Africa Cup are limited only to lesser sides like Uganda. Unless of course the regional body ACA or the respective teams fund their own tournments like ECC and ACC do. Also the Africa Cup these days only gets played ever 2 years.

The other issue is getting players from South Africa and Zimbabwe out of their domestic seasons for these matches.

Kenya reach 48/1with David Obuya being the man out and they've suddenly decided to throw Collins Obuya in at 3 instead of Obanda who looked pretty set in that position in the previous match why? :frusty:... no wait WHY?!!!:wallbash: .

There was even talk once back in 05' of an Afro-Asia 'A' team cup to be hosted by Bangladesh and some teams eg kenya even named squads but its been postponed so many times since that the Idea is probably dead

May be beacuse A.Obanda got enough batting practise & the others should now...

Obanda sprained his ankle in the field during Bermuda's innings. I doubt he will bat unless absolutely necessary. Collins is the logical promotion so Tikolo keeps his spot at 4.

At least they seem to have stopped the sacrifice of Nehemiah Odhiambo at 3!

Not sure if it was poor captaincy or just that he wanted a bigger total to aim for. Not going for the jugular perhaps, but the batting department is in more need of practice than the bowling and I get the feel that Kenya are pretty confident they can beat Bermuda every time. Just hope they don't get overconfident...

184 should be a breeze. 250 min is a decent score for Gymkhana at the moment.
