A few flaws there:

Gilly is probably the best ever Keeper/Batsman in history...

H. Tillakaratne doesn't keep wicket for Sri Lanka any more...

R. Campbell ahead of A. Stewart???

Tillakaratne does keeps sometimes and im a bit biased with the andy flower thing coz he my fav player but i know that gilly is awesome. Ryan Campbell is an awesome player in ODI didnt u see him play for australia A. And stewart either scores really quick or goes along at snail pace

Gilchrist Because he is a better One day batsman than Flower.

Also Gilchrist is a once in a life time player wether there are better batsman out there is debatable but Gilchrist is the fastest scoring Batsman of all time (This is a Fact for all Players with over 1500 test runs) not to mention his ODI strike rate of 91.

Importaintly he backs his fast scoring up with a consistency that is hard to imagine.

I haven't seen any games in Australia other than the Tests thanks to Sky and Ch4 not showing them...

How can you say someone who has player 2 ODIs and done okay, is better than a player who averages over 40 in 126 Tests and over 31 in 165 ODIs and is classed as one of the best Keeper/Batsmen in the world in the last 10 years???

I think that Alex Stewart is a legend. He is one of the best english players and look at his age. Gilly is a freak... Some of the things he does aren't human.

I rate Haddin better than Campbell any way.

Its unfair on Stewart to rate Campbell better considering the vast diffrence in international experiance.

Andy Flower is the best "human" player with Alec Stewart and Mark Boucher fighting for 2nd place...

Extensive research finds that Adam Gilchrist is in fact an Alien and his ears are used to communicate with his mothership located in the milky way. Australia are forced to find a new wicket-keeper after Gilchrist mysteriously dissapears, some say he went home.

I cant believe this is a poll
i know people have their favourites, but its gilchrist by a country mile.

A.Flower in 90% of the time has to come in mwhen is team is about 3/50 and has all the pressure on him while Gilchrist always comes in at about 5/350 and can just do wat he wants. I believ that Andy Flower and Gilly are even. But Flower is my fav.:alien8:

Stewart isnt a good keeper at all. Ryan campbell is a gun batsman, in domestic cricket his strike rate is over 120. And Campbell is the wicketkeeper i have seen since ian healy.

I really respect Andy Flower but still...Gilly is something else, he has outragous luck and ability, it's all ok saying he has no pressure on him...but still no one else has scored at this rate, not even specialist batsmen...

Yes Gilchrist is an awesome player but andy flower is just as good but they are differant kinds of players they are both in the top 5 batsmen in thw world.

That is actualy wrong. If you look up the statistics on Cricket info you will see that almost all of the 100s and his 50s have been made when the team is in trouble he is a great player at scoring runs and taking the match away from the oposition just when they look like there getting on top.

Usualy when he comes in at 5/350 etc.. he throws his wicket away the times when he truly thrives are when he has a responsibility to make runs witch he still does at an amazing strike rate.

Thomas Aquinas

yes he does but would you rather come in if your team was 3/15 of 10 over or 5/400 of 90 overs. i think i know which one id choose

That would be a tough call I cant say I have seen alot of Andy Flower but Gilchrist is certainly a good man to have in a crisis.

I will leave that to people who have seen more of both of them.

All innings And Flower play when there team is in a crisis. A crisis for australia is a lot differant from a crisis for zimbabwe

Gilchrist by a mile
I'm thinking Aus v Pakistan 3rd test at Hobart
The man is the world's best player, not only keeper but player

He's not the world's best keeper, he's the world's best keeper/batsman package. Example: Rashid Latif is a very good keeper, but he's not as good a batsman as Gilchrist. Gilchrist can be quite ordinary with the gloves and quite outstanding, but it's his batting which is the reason he's in the team, because that, added to being a decent keeper, is better than having someone who's a great keeper but can't bat. It's sad but wicketkeepers need to score runs now as although there will be hard chances coming, it only takes a player with good catching ability to take a regulation catch behind...
