Don't really think I find it a shame, but it is surprising that nobody has broken that record yet itbt. I was almost certain Gibbs would get it in that one abomination of a ODI at Johannesburg. What's funny about that? Given that we have some big hitters like Adam Gilchrist, Shahid Afridi and Sanath Jayasuriya, coupled with smaller grounds and more games against the minnow nations, it's become more of a possbility lately. Just a shame nobody has been able to break that record.
True, but I'd possiblu say Dhoni was closer, because he was only denied it for all intents and purposes because the total he was chasing was too small.Gibbs had the record for all money until he got out in that 2006 game, he was out for 175 after 31.5 overs, still had 18 to go ....could concievably have made 250 odd if he'd stayed around.

Typical of the man, it didn't occur to him at the time.Gibbs had the record for all money until he got out in that 2006 game, he was out for 175 after 31.5 overs, still had 18 to go ....could concievably have made 250 odd if he'd stayed around.
I hope Shane Watson breaks it.
