some body can have a 'O' team ???
Was about to start on the 'R's - but since you ask ...

Jack O'Connor
'Tuppy' Owen-Smith
David Ogilvie
Norm O'Neill
Jacob Oram
Simon O'Donnell
Chris Old
Bert Oldfield
Kerry O'Keeffe
Henry Olonga
Bill O'Reilly

12th man: Alan Oakman

No obvious skipper (did O'Donnell captain Victoria for a while?), and I know Owen-smith wasn't really an opener, but it's the only vacancy for him - unless O'Keeffe stands in as he did in the Centenary Test. Would be fun to see O'Reilly and O'Keeffe in tandem.

Well, neither turned the ball a great deal, that would be the only similarity you'd think. Bit of a worry having O'Donnell at 6 but options aren't thick on the ground.

Here are 11 players listed in the order of their test debuts. The first, Blackham made his debut in the very first test match and in the year of his last test the next player made his debut and so on.

I got round to it eventually ... this side looks pretty handy.

Barry Richards
Ian Redpath
Vivian Richards
KS Ranjitsinjhi
Jonty Rhodes
John Reid
Wilfred Rhodes
Jack Russell
Franklyn Rose
Andy Roberts
Bruce Reid

Doug Ring for Bruce Reid if a 2nd spinner is required. Paul Reiffel, Tim Robinson, Lawrence Rowe, Graham Roope and Ramiz Raja were among others considered.

Oh and Derek Randall of course. Virtually nothing between him and Jonty Rhodes - it just looks a little more representative with another Saffie in there.

Colin Blythe can be replaced by either Shaun Tait or George Hirst.
Mudassar Nissar, Dr.Jehangir Khan, Charlie Davis could vie for a full tour

Well I'll be dipped in poop and rolled in breadcrumbs! You're not suggesting, surely, that those two are in anything like the same league? Or, indeed, that Tait would add more value than the epileptic man?

I can understand wanting to replace Colin Bluthe sice the alphabets are in the wrong order in the name. But I would then have both Nissar and Ntini in the team. On second thoughts, George Hirst would be a better option :)

Agree re: Tait, obviously. But George Hirst would be acclaimed as a great all-rounder if he were playing today. Still the only man ever to score 2000 runs and take 200 wickets in the same season. Rather pointless to try and compare him with a left-arm spinner who batted at # 11, though.

Sorry, just read that through again, I think I see what you were getting at now.:)

Surely not, my good man. What I am suggesting is that since Colin Blythe's initials are CB, that would constitute a 'reverse sweep' of my criteria for being in consecutive alpha sequence.

Robin Smith, R.Sarwan anyone ?
