Australia under 19 changes

Buszard added to Australian U/19 squad
Victorian batsman Tim Buszard has been added to the Australian Under 19 squad for the upcoming Travelex tour of Malaysia and Pakistan. Buszard joins fellow Victorians Clive Rose and Kumar Sarna for the trip, and is a replacement for Michael Hill, who will remain with the senior Victorian squad.
The Cricket Australia Youth Selection Panel, comprising Geoff Tamblyn, Andrew Hilditch, Ray Bright and coach Brian McFadyen, decided that Hill and Philip Hughes (New South Wales) will no longer tour with the team in recognition of their workload over the winter months.
"Having completed their Cricket Australia Centre of Excellence scholarships, which included participation in the Emerging Players Tournament and sub continent playing experience on the AIS Tour of India, the Youth Selection Panel elected to provide the pair with additional preparation time in their home states ahead of the 2007-08 summer," Youth Selection Panel Chairman Geoff Tamblyn said.
"As a result, stand-by player James Smith (South Australia) and Tim Buszard (Victoria) will join the team on the Travelex tour."
After a camp at the Cricket Australia Centre of Excellence in Brisbane this weekend, Australia Under 19 will play two one-day matches against Malaysia next week before five games in Pakistan in early October.
David Murphy (New South Wales) will now travel to Brisbane as the batting stand-by player, while fellow New South Welshman Steven Smith has been added to the Australia under-19 squad after his performances on the AIS Tour of India where he was called in as a late replacement. However Smith will not travel to Brisbane or participate in the tour.
With the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup to be held in Malaysia in February 2008, next week's matches particularly will expose the squad to the local conditions and culture of the host nation ahead of next year's tournament.
