Stats are evil

When a discussion like Wasim Vs Mcgrath occurs ,Stats are facts .:)

When a discussion like Imran Vs Botham occurs stats are evil:dry: (stats don't tell the whole story etc etc.....)
There was a discussion like this a long long time ago re: Wasim and McGrath. People were saying Wasim was obviously the better bowler.
I couldnt understand that one though. In terms of what the measurables were McGrath pretty much was superior to Wasim. Now that certainly is not proof that McGrath was the better bowler, but my gripe was how people could totally dismiss the idea that Wasim was in another league to McGrath, apart from the fact that they were two totally different types of bowler who used different 'weapons' to do what they did.
