Oh didn't you hear that he's in the Aussie ODI team therefore he's automatically the best all-rounder in the world?Bazzaroodoo said:Shane Watson's domestic OD bowling record is:
121-1-705-16. That means he averages 44.06, with a SR of 45.38 and econ of 5.83 (97.11 for you Aussies).
That's not even ordinary, it's just plain crap.
I wouldn't be in the queue to sign him for my county. In fact I wouldn't expect there to be a queue at all.

If I was a county manager I'm not sure I could resist :saint:
What...into a Slogger who bowls crappy Off Spin?Rich2001 said:J.Kallis
S.Pollock
The list goes on before I would even consider signing Watson... I so know Kent will sign him now however I know what they are after so unless he changes his game quickly he won't be coming to Kent......
The 3rd sign of madness...:rolleyes:age_master said:these days i would rate him as good if not better than Kallis with the ball
Ok if you don't have the money then yes, but surly the team comes first, you wouldn't just sign a player because he was cheaper, you sign the player because they benfit the team.age_master said:Kallis and pollock might be before him on your list but they would have to be very well paid for their services
andway, watson as im sure you have noticed has improved massivley with his bowling of late and these days i would rate him as good if not better than Kallis with the ball
Well Iam not going to say you are wrong as I've never seen him at domestic level, where his avg is alot better.... But quite frankly I've seen nothing that impressives me in the current VB Series, his bowling has been poor and only really taken wickets in the "slog" period at the end... He has had a few good inngs with the bat though (35 comes to mind)age_master said:Kallis and pollock might be before him on your list but they would have to be very well paid for their services

Well your an Aussie so of course you would think that.age_master said:well i think Watson would be a better than any of the all rounders in england (maybe not but i cant think of any better atm)
I can wish :P I would lobve to see him get stuck into the county bowlers (for Kent), and he could break the record for number of cars hit in the Kent car park (or the 2 near-by roads if he wishes) And iam sure he would have no trouble clearing the Lime Tree.age_master said:i dont think gilly will be playing county, as he will be heaps tired after VB, World cup and then the WI tour, so i doubt he would play
Boucher would be a good signing though
That's a mighty brave statment to make if iam understanding you right... In England alot (even non international's) would be better than Watson, they know the all the players and have experianced the conditions for a number of years. Also have experiance of playing around 64 days of cricket in less than 6 months, something Aussie cricketer's would take about 2-3 years to achieve back home.age_master said:well i think Watson would be a better than any of the all rounders in england (maybe not but i cant think of any better atm)
No its just a mighty fool-hardy piece of bravado.Rich2001 said:That's a mighty brave statment to make if iam understanding you right...
There's only one all rounder in the world, and it isn't Watson.Rik said:Oh didn't you hear that he's in the Aussie ODI team therefore he's automatically the best all-rounder in the world?
I already said Craig White and Flintoff...Flintoff is currently a much more impressive ODI bowler than Watson. His batting I would class as better too. Watson's average in ODIs is boosted by Not Outs. Also for your comments about Watson improving, I will repeat an earlier comment I made, Watson has dropped 4 runs off his batting and added 2 on his bowling in just a few games this season in Aussie FC. That's not what I call an improvement...age_master said:well who in england is better than watson???
