Actually, yes they do, they mean that a batsman has scored X ammount of runs at X average, the same for a bowler but with Wickets. The same as averages all around the world. :lol:

Well I wouldn't put it that way. I would say that we haven't seen the Aussie players and they haven't seen all the English players. But since all the English county players are professional Cricketers who are paid and who spend nearly all year playing and training, it would take a lot for an Australian 1st Grade part time side to win.
Maybe you're looking at it in the wrong terms. Most Aussie grade sides would be consistently hammered by Surrey, Yorks, Essex or even Hants but the BEST Aussie grade sides would have a good chance against teams such as Glamorgan, Northhamptonshire, Notts etc.

At full strength then I would agree. Durham probably England's closest county to a grade team, they are basically a youth team now but their players like Gary Pratt and Peng and such need to perform. If Peng's going to get anywhere near England he's going to have to average more than a pittiful 22...
