After New Zealand miss out on the whitewash that would have maintained the status quo, they slip back fractionally and Sri Lanka progress a little.

1 Australia 1616
2 England 1062
3 South Africa 959
4 India 948
5 New Zealand 831
6 Pakistan 825

9 Zimbabwe 270
10 Bangladesh 82
I think that your rankin system is perfect. It takes into account much more than the ICC ones.

England's closing of the gap isn't as pronounced as it ought to be as they also suffered the "Bangladesh bump", which India [H], Australia [A] and Sri Lanka [A] are yet to do. The only other incomplete series is Zimbabwe v Australia, which again slightly inflates the Australian ranking.

If we assumed that all four of these series would be whitewashes, the table would look like this:

Australia 1473
England 1090
South Africa 988
India 917
Pakistan 859
New Zealand 828
Sri Lanka 743
West Indies 441
Zimbabwe 252
Bangladesh 59

Why is SA so high, considering how much they've been losing?
They're lower than they were - they still have a fantastically strong home record (only lost to Australia and England), and the rankings aren't built for snap changes based on form, you need a consistent change of fortunes, home and away, against everyone, to progress/regress significantly..
