I thought that truely doctored wickets were supposed to be those deliberately tailored to a certain type so as to give the Home team a distinct advantage, such as are served up to touring teams in some parts of the sub continent & Carribean. To my knowledge the final preparation for wickets have been adversley affected by the wet summer so far in NZ. Me thinks there is a big difference......sasnoz said:

The call has been for more Aussie type pitches over the last 18 months with more bounce & pace - not seam movement! This is in an effort to encourage the batsment into better shot making whilst still giving encouragement to the bowlers to work hard for their rewards - works for the Aussies so not a bad example to follow, it just takes time to get the mix right to achieve the results - the Jade pitch has probably come closest to my knowledge.

Think about it - if you are right & we know NZ did not make the above player changes, then what does that say about how little they must have regarded the so called Indian batting line-up, supposedly one of the best in the world?????
If the weather had been kind the pitches would have been faster & bouncier, with little seam movement - just like the Aussie model.
As it was the bounce that stuffed the Indians in the 2nd innings in the 1st Test (not seam movement!!!!!) then I suppose those would have been doctored wickets as well?????
I really don't think the pitches have been too bad. The test pitches were green but the one day pitches so far have looked quite good batting wickets. Especially Jade Stadium yesterday. It will be very interesting to see how Queenstown plays this weekend, First ODI there but I'm sure there will be plenty of runs.
As for Oram and Tuffey, they are good bowlers. They are bowling great line and length and are getting wickets. The indian batsman aren't in good form but don't take the credit away from the bowlers.

Yep they are playing crap at the moment. They didn't perform well in the test matches and now all of them seem to have lost the form at the same time. I think the seam movement is doing them. And also Tuffey and Oram are bowling really straight and so they are getting tied up and playing loose strokes. All credit to them. But i think Tuffey and Oram will not be the same bowlers in SAF even against India as there will not be seam movement there.

Apart from an obviouse few I think its fair to say the Indian batsman are FLAT TRACK bullys thats why it always annoys me when Indian fans rant on about how good there batting is when they have the best batting wickets in the world right on there home soil not to mention the smallest grounds with means even more runs.
