Good performance by Taibu, shows what a class act he is.

Very pleased to see Taibu and Chawla doing well. Pathan was a big disappointment in this match.

Not good for the two prospective pacers. Long tour ahead though with another game against Zimbabwe and a few against Kenya.
The speed at which a fielding team gets through the innings is overrated.

The ZCB is pathetic. How hard can it be to get a scorecard to Cricinfo?

I don't even think they bother with anything like that, last time I checked cricinfo had a lot of trouble in getting a reporter into the country.

OK someone's got to stand up for the underdogs. India "A" shouldn't expect to just turn up and rollover Kenya in the manner they have beaten Zimbabwe esp considering that they will be playing a full strength team. Sure a select team from Kenya did play in the Logan cup, finish last and then lose to Zimbabwe "A" but in 2005 a full strength team handed the Zims their backsides on a plate

The guy Cricinfo use is "Stephen Price"- it's not his real name, and ZC have expended a lot of energy trying to find out who it is, so they can shut him down. Chingoka thought it was John Ward, who used to run Cricinfo Zimbabwe (a very fine cricket writer). When Ward had to have his laptop serviced, Chingoka had it confiscated and examined the hard drive. He found no evidence that Ward was "Stephen Price", but he did find a lot of emails from people around the world criticising ZC, and he refused to give Ward's laptop back to him.

Prosper and Gary Brent had good spells today by the looks of it.

Bad match overall, from the point of view of Indian prospects. The Indian team has been handicapped without Irfan Pathan, recent results notwithstanding, but Irfan has been struggling to score runs and take wickets. Hopefully he'll stay in all the matches, as the team needs him to return to form sooner than later. Mohammed Kaif was again short of runs, while extras and (just-out) teenagers are scoring heavily. He too is a key prospect in the ODI team, so it's not a good thing. It's good to see Chawla, Badrinath and Uthappa have a good game (Chawla may be a multiple man for the team, with Irfan out of form), but most of those who have thrashed this second XI of a minnow team (or less) don't create much value in the team and don't have a chance of making the national team. On present form, Kenya may give this team a tough chance, but the probable assignment against Sri Lanka A will be a lot tougher, and they need Kaif, Irfan and Rajesh Pawar to strike form.

There seems to be something wrong with Pathan, he went for four an over yesterday and it is not looking good. All that hype for nothing eh.
