It is nice that Pathan got wickets in the second innings.

Chawla really seems to be a magnificent prospect for the future, he racks up fifties whilst spearheading the bowling attack.

Don't expect Kenya to go down that easily. The 3 dayers will be tough as it is still a format that many are not used to, but the 1 dayers should see a very competitive outfit. A slight concern is that not many who were selected in the national team have been in great form yet this domestic season. Good to see the selectors are consistent with trying to bring in a new face or two each tour. Whatever the outcome, it will be invaluable experience before the Intercontinental Cup campaign gets under way.

yeah, good for both sets of players and if Kenya do offer better competition than Zim, that can only be good for the Indians....

weather forecast is pretty good - here's hoping Kenya can give a good account of themselves. It will be interesting to see if Obanda and Otieno get a start - they have both been in decent for domestically, certainly compared to some of the others in the squad.

Pathan opens with a wicket maiden Morris Ouma the man out, Ouch. Obanda is playing and he is at the crease.

The Indian medium pacers doing very well as Kenya stumble to 39/3 off 14.0 overs.

Now they've turned to their spinners Sharma and Ojha

Kenya 53/3 D.Obuya on 22 Mishra on 2

Kenya at 93/6 with Mishra and Varaiya at the crease. Ptressure again on the young shoulders of Mishra to manouvre the strike an try drag Kenya to a respectable 1st innings score.

Kenya all out for 97 in 37 overs. Irfan takes one wicket for 18 in seven overs. Part-time spinner Rohit Sharma takes three for 33. Parthiv Patel scores a century, even as prospects Kaif and Sharma are out cheaply. Openers are a no-show.

The B¢¢I could have sent a bunch of schoolboys from Jharkhand or North Bombay for a tour such as this. The tour isn't building the necessary bench strength for the Indian team- it's just helping those found wanting when playing for India to get an easy recall.

India A will face Sri Lanka A soon. That should be more worthwhile.

Terrible first day for Kenya. I expected a much better effort than that, even without Odoyo. Hopefully Day 2 will turn things around.

Well India are 332/8,and Collins Obuya is among the wickets:-O. He's just claimed his second via a runout. Varaiya also has two wickets but his 19 overs have gone at 6 a piece. Strangely enough Steve Tikolo has not bowled.
