Vaughan quits as ODI captain

Do you really think Bresnan and Onions will find the consistency you're looking for though? Anderson isn't the most consistent player in the world, however good performances come along much more often in one day cricket from him than they do from Bresnan and Onions.
Not necessarily, but I think he could be given a chance. I don't see anyone else staking a claim, unless you want to go back to James Kirtley...

Panesar to play if the pitch looks to be somewhat of a turner, in which case Tremlett misses out. I must admit I'm not 100% sure of Trott's eligibility, and given his stats I should probably assume he's only been left out because he's ineligible. However, if he is indeed ineligible, I really can't think of any other candidates, so I'd probably pull a rabbit out of a hat and pick James Allenby, who is also questionable eligibility wise, haha.

List of number-of-games would be helpful, TBH (along with averages in brackets and economy-rates being the main thing). Completely forgot about Jonathan Trott - think he is indeed eligable now. It's James Allenby, though, not Tim. :p

Just would like to see this side first up against the Windies, but i'm not banking on it being an insant success.

International Debutant
Anderson has the best strike rate of any English bowler past or present.

Leading 4 wicket hauls - Flintoff and Anderson - 6

Englands leading ODI wicket takers
Gough - 234
Botham - 145
Flintoff - 136
De Freitas - 115
Anderson - 94
Willis - 80

Brett Lee 10-0-85-1 three times
Harmison 10-0-97-0
Murali 10-0-99-0
Clark 7-0-87-0
Pollock 10-0-83-0

and there are a lot more figures like that from good bowlers and Anderson is not on Cricinfo's most expensive bowling list. http://uk.cricinfo.com/db/STATS/ODIS/BOWLING/ODI_BOWL_MOST_EXPENSIVE.html

Anderson has ODI experience (66 games) and could go on and get 300 ODI wickets. He is only 24.

I know this is off topic but could someone please tell me how to sig quotes?. It's really bugging me that I don't know how.
There's probably a more efficient way, but what I do is press quote, but press it to open in a new tab (on IE7 this by pressing CRTL + clicking, or on some mice clicking on the roller button thingy in the middle), then cut the quote from the reply screen (highlight it, then press CTRL+X), go to User CP, and paste it into your signature (CTRL+V). :)

That (what Martyn [GIMH] suggested) is moreorless what I do, only don't bother with the new window (still use proper old-fashioned IExplore single-windows myself, hate Firefox and all). Can't think of an easier way.

Don't be disappointed when smilies don't work in sigs, either.

EDIT: and I was gonna answer earlier, but somehow forgot.

Cheers for the reply GIMH. I was getting worried that my query was just going to be forgotten.

No problem mate.

I love tabbed browsing. It's great for when someone like you or Gelman links to a really old thread and you wanna check the link out but don't want to lose where you are up to in the thread.

CW is auto-prompted for open-in-new-window when you get links - of any sort - in threads.
