***Official** Quadrangular Series in Ireland

But if the series didn’t have ODI status then Ireland and the Netherlands would be unable to field their best players.
Well you can scrap that thought for the Irish considering their side for India and South Africa is voided of all their ‘star’ players.

That is not their fault though, I think Eoin Morgan is the only one whose club has affected him. They still released him but said if a new batsman was to score runs then he would get the spot in the side, which is fair enough.

The West Indies must be dreading this. Win easily and no-one blinks an eye; win narrowly and the knives are sharpened; lose and they will have dropped to new depths. It's a lose-lose situation for them.

They should win fairly comfortably IMO, they are a pretty average Test outfit but as an ODI side they can be pretty damn good. They've got a number of very classy players in the shorter form of the game and this tournament will provide some of those fringe players a chance to strut their stuff.

Ireland should be at full strength apart from rankin who is injured, morgan their this is the strongest ireland side available apart from rankin.
Shame their no final.
Drinnen resigned seems the inconsistent senior players have revolted, whats worse is their form is revolting.
Poonia may be a lift.

Dwayne Bravo won't be making the trip, a shame for him. West Indies aren't going to bother with a replacement, just use the guys that didn't get much of a go against England.

Seems to be a close fought matches (considering and expecting all the other three teams to improve their performances)

West Indies should blow them away, in theory at least. They've just come off a 2-1 victory over a team ranked above them without their two leading ODI batsman (Lara and Sarwan), they have a man in the form of his life and enough pace in their bowling attack to seriously worry these amateur.

We should be underway! Why aren't we? Rain in Dublin, perhaps? Cricinfo doesn't explain!

I really hope we can kick some West-Indian arse, though I realise it's unlikely. Otoh, the chances to create an upset are bigger than at the WC, where we had to play Aus & SA.
