Might as well use him next test. I don't really rate the likes of Jacques.Good to hear. His chances of playing another Test have probably gone, but you never know these things.
One of the most poorly-treated players of recent times.
Don't especially love watching him bat, but have always liked waking-up and finding-out he's scored runs.Would love to see him play for Australia again. Yeah, I'm in the minority, but I love watching him bat.
I do!Might as well use him next test. I don't really rate the likes of Jacques.
These slow and steady type openers are really useful. Just look at the likes of Cook and Richardson.Don't especially love watching him bat, but have always liked waking-up and finding-out he's scored runs.
He's a middle order player? I always thought he was an opener.....Damn.I do!
Anyway - Jacques is pretty well an opener, Katich a middle-order man. Hodge is ahead of him there.
I mean, I'd happily put Hussey opening and have specialist middle-order bats in the middle-order, but most seem to favour leaving the opener (Hussey) there.
Katich is a middle-order batsman, though. But yes, runs are runs regardless of how quick they come. These slow and steady type openers are really useful. Just look at the likes of Cook and Richardson.
Well he has opened in ODIs I suppose... but that was only ever some bright-spark trying to manufacture it.He's a middle order player? I always thought he was an opener.....Damn.
John Bracewell's long lost brother?Well he has opened in ODIs I suppose... but that was only ever some bright-spark trying to manufacture it.
Only chance of that happening is surely Watson having a gun start to the season.I do!

I did and still do, and his form is good as it always has been.I would have completely forgotten katich had i not seen this thread. how is his form in domestic cricket in australia.....i rated him very highly when he was almost a regular member of the aussie team.
There aren't really so many players mid-30s though. Only Hayden among the batsmen, so really that's only one spot up for grabs. (I'm ignoring the Langer spot, which surely Jaques/Rogers/Hodge/Waston are all above him for)I would have completely forgotten katich had i not seen this thread. how is his form in domestic cricket in australia.....i rated him very highly when he was almost a regular member of the aussie team.
Though very slim chances of making it back to the team ....but you never know with so many players in their mid thirties
