Hobbs was an easy choice. The other three are very hard to split and none would look out of place in an All-Time XI. I eventually decided to vote for Sutcliffe just ahead of Gavaskar.

It's Hobbs & A.N. Other, isn't it?

I'm going with Sutcliffe. His figures are the most compelling & by all acounts was just as gutsy as Gavaskar.

Gavaskar and Hobbs.

Can't go wrong with any combination among these 4, to be honest.
yeah. that pretty much sums up the caliber andd class of these giants. hutton and sutcliffe were equally great as hobbs and sunny but were more cautious. their comparatively slower scoring rate, based on what i've read, has made me opt for the master and the little master.

Went for Hobbs and Hutton. I've previously always had Sunil in my all-time XI to partner Hobbs, but have been reading a bit of stuff about Hutton recently and am thinking that he might become a permanent fixture in my all-time team.

As you'd expect for selecting the alltime best team, this is the first of what you'd expect will be a serious of quite tough choices though.

One has to be Hobbs. For the other I voted Sutcliffe but on another day, I might have voted Hutton.

Nice easy one to start with:laugh: Tempting as it is to go for the gratest opening partnership ever, Hutton just pips Sutcliffe.

Hobbs is a guarantee. The second one is a hard choice and any of the three will do. You can really make a case for all three, so I won't really mind whoever comes out.
