Bloody hell, because a paper picked a team of players which it thinks has done well against Australia, to beat Australia. So we are now doing the same? Comprende?

But a good player is a good player. A good player is bound to pull through against even the best of opposition even if they haven't done it in the past. A good player is still able to perform against a good team.

Where would the series be played if were staged? 'Cause if its not in India, I disagree with Harbhajan inclusion in the squad at all.

And where does it say that either in this thread or the article?

It doesn't.

The thread title suggests the best 11 to take on Australia, where does it specify it's based on performances against Australia?

I interpreted it in the way that you'd want players who have performed against the Aussies, and not been found out time and again (Trescothick).

That's incorrect.Warne is suppose to be the best leg spinner ever, but his record against India is pathetic!!
One has to look at one's opponents weak points and then select the players accordingly.I for one think that Aussies should stop playing Warne when they take on India next time around. And a team playing against Aus should be well adviced to have a good off spinner in their squad!

If someone is picking a team to beat the Aussies, then isn't it obvious that they would look at players who have performed admirably against them ? Let's get back to the discussion rather then wasting energy on unnecessary bickering.

Lara - hes out too

What a asinine remark.India is the best opposition when it comes to playing against a leg spin bowler.Pity that you can't even get the point!

One has to look at the overall record of players against Australia rather than against a specific player.
Lets have a look at Above mentioned players record

Tendulkar ave against Aus:54.06 with 6 tons!! Playing in Aus, it is 46.16 with 3 tons!

Lara's ave: 48.42 with 6 tons!!
Playing in Aus:40.11 with 3 tons!!

Seems to me a very impressive record!

No, that suggests the best 11 players to play against Australia - doesn't specify anything about their performance, just suggests it's a Rest of the World XI.

Stop complaining and make a list...or don't...just stop complaining. There's no point.
