They will be named shortly after the world cup, wonder who will score a contract this season, expect a few surprises a few left field picks.
Warne, martyn, langer and mcgrath gone, wonder if brad hogg will call it quits after the world cup.
Heard simon katich and dan cullen,as well as kasperowicz and gillespie will lose their contracts.

Can't see why any of those four you mentioned in the last sentence would retain their contracts, Dan Cullen is maybe the only one but that depends on what Hogg and MacGill are doing next season.

Fair bets on Hogg leaving after the World Cup. MacGill is the kind of player who won't stop now he's got his chance. Even though he's how old??

Hogg could quite possibly keep going until the next World Cup if he wanted to, with his fine form and the lack of any up and coming spinners who will be ready for the next season. MacGill is 36 but now that he's got an opportunity he'll cling to it, he's waited so long.

Yeh I s'pose. I've always felt he'd go, though. Which would be a shame I'm an avid fan.

I think he'll go to, just pointing out that he could quite conceivably carry on for another few years.

Rogers and Hilfenhaus are certainties. Hard to know who, out of our FC middle order ranks is going to replace Katich and Martyn though (especially seeing as though chaps like Cosgrove really struggled last season).

Well, one would assume Voges, given his test-squad selection and ODI appearances. I have a feeling Katich might be retained.

I have a feeling that Brad Hogg will be given another contract as he's bowling brilliantly at the moment, and is a chance to play some Test Cricket, especially if we opt for two spinners on a turning wicket in the sub-continent.

1 Rogers 2 Hayden 3 Ponting 4 Clarke 5 Hussey 6 Symonds 7 Gilchrist 8 Lee 9 Clark 10 Johnson 11 Tait 12 MacGill 13 Hodge 14 Jaques 15 Bracken 16 Watson 17 Hogg 18 Hilfenhaus 19 Voges 20 Haddin 21 White 22 Cosgrove 23 Hopes 24 Noffke 25 Katich

Fair squad but how do you get cosgrove in there.
Similar way to how you got Harwood in there, except Cosgrove is a future talent and Harwood has played his one and only game for Australia, unless we rest our stars in the 20/20 World Championship rubbish in September.

Cosgrove is a great player and I don't think he's far away from making the ODI team at all.

Brad Hogg will not play another test for Australia. He averages 40 in FC cricket, and isn't even picked for his state side.

Yeah Aaron Heal does get picked on occasions, but so does Hogg.. His average of 40 is terrible yes, but you just have to look at the way players handle him in the ODI format to realise he could still do a serviceable job on spinning wickets.

He has done well to get his average down to 40, last year he averaged 20.53 with the ball, a fantastic return really.

There is a chance that Australia play just the top 5 batsmen, and have Gilly at 6 and 3 pace bowlers and 2 spinners.. Hogg averages over 30 with the bat, so it's not the worst idea in the world.

Yeah, Hogg has improved his first class bowling of late, but really, it's hig.ly unlikely he'll ever be considered for a test match again. His career record with the ball is ordinary and his batting has gone downhill,

I wouldn't read too much if anything into his ODI performances - he's been a good OD bowler and a poor FC bowler for years, so bowling well in ODIs doesn't show that anything has changed.

If you were going to pick 2 spinners, real spinners I mean not Andrew Symonds, who would you pick? Dan Cullen hasn't done too much, nor has Dan Doran or Cullum Bailey..

You just wouldn't pick too spinners. Pretty simple. It'd be like saying "If you were going to pick 11 left arm medium pacers, who would you pick?" - it'd be ridiculous to pick two spinners given the players at Australia's disposal.

And, in any rate, if I really was forced to pick two spinners, I'd go with MacGill and Bailey, probably.

Actually it's slightly different mate.. What happens if we play on a pitch similar to where Nathan Hauritz played his only Test? That wouldn't be a bad pitch to play 2 specialist spinners.. I can't really think of an occasion where you would need 11 left arm medium pacers however.

Cullun Bailey, so you would include him in the 25? What happens if Hogg has had a fantastic one day tournament just before a Test Series and the first test is turning ridicolous amounts.. Hogg for mine, he may NOT play another Test, but I still think he has a decent chance to add to his 4 Tests so far.
