Pakistan almost won that first one, if not for bad light. But traditions kept, its the bowling that saved em again. thye were at 130/8 at one instant, but thanks to abdur razzaq the eventual total was 229. Sami and Zahid bowled well. A single batsman (darn dont remember the name) fared well with 80 odd runs for nthe nicky 11. Good start to the bowling department but the batting struggled......

I still think Pakistan is going to have a long, tough tour of South Africa.

Against South Africa you can be assured of that. Pakistan have found them to be a tough opposition.

In onedayers, YES, but as far as test matches that are played in SA are concerned, Pak has a good record !

However it can hardly be a long tour considering they are going to play just 2 test matches

Ha! Even a short tour can be long! WI played a long 3 match series in Sri Lanka last year and one in India this year too!

A tour that is is going to last just more than a month can indeed be very long!

WI played 3 tests in India and 7 onedayers, Pakistan is going to play just 2 tests and 5 onedayers, see the difference??

Duh! It's not about the literal length of the tour. It's the mental (and thus physical) challenge that can make it tough.
For intance, a 2 test series for Bangladesh can seem a whole lot longer than a 5 Test 7 ODI series for Australia.

A bit early to tell, but 1 win 1 draw and 2 defeats doesn't look to me a particularly good record (unless the opposition is Australia)

Well I can tell you the Bangladesh series would seem a lot shorter than the Aussie Tour once the damn Aussie media get on your backs...!

After playing against the Aussies and getting pasted in the heat of Sharjah, Pak won't find the SA tour that tough!
