The only bowlers to get Tendulkar out 4 or more times -

Bowled 1 - caught 1 - c/b 1 - lbw 3 - 6 McGrath (9 matches)
Bowled 1 - caught 3 - c/b 0 - lbw 2 - 6 Gillespie (8 matches)
Bowled 0 - caught 3 - c/b 1 - lbw 1 - 5 Cronje (9 matches)
Bowled 2 - caught 1 - c/b 1 - lbw 1 - 5 Donald (11 matches)
Bowled 0 - caught 3 - c/b 0 - lbw 3 - 5 Murali (12 matches)
Bowled 1 - caught 2 - c/b 0 - lbw 1 - 4 Pollock (12 matches)
Bowled 2 - caught 2 - c/b 0 - lbw 0 - 4 Lewis (8 matches)

Donald, McGrath and Anderson have got him out in all four ways.

He has been dismissed 203 times - bowled 36, caught 91, c/b 31, lbw 40 and run out 4 times. Also 1 stumping by Giles.

Dismissed by 113 different bowlers.
The England ones were -
3 - Hoggard
2 - Cork, Panesar, Caddick
1 - Giles, Dawson, Flintoff, Fraser, Ealham, Udal, Malcolm, Salisbury, Tufnell, Collingwood, Tremlett, White, Hemmings, Williams and Vaughan.

But yet again, though, this series has showcased the Anderson we all know and would rather not know. Superlative in one innings... a bit unfortunate and OK of other times... but also utterly terrible quite often.

It's the same old story. I'm beginning to wonder if it'll ever change TBH. Mind, Hoggard was 4 years into his Test career before he became the bowler he is today.

I dont think we learned anything about Anderson that we didnt already know either. Although he certainly doesnt swing a cricket ball as much as he used to when he first burst onto the scene.

Ryan Sidebottom IMO is too one-dimensional to succeed at test match cricket. Id be very surprised if he managed to take wickets in traditional SL conditions. If he works on his bowling for a few more years, he might at best become Matthew Hoggard, which while it isnt so bad isnt really worthwhile investing in. The 2 of them might be decent support/backup bowlers but neither are capable of being consistent match winners or even strike bowlers.

The only real find from this series for England has been Chris Tremlett for me. He too has plenty to work on, but hes got a lot going for him. At the moment his bowling is a bit Caddick-ish and if he can add a yard of pace to it and try to add an inswinger, he really could be a nightmare to face IMO.

There aren't many bowlers who carry the weapons Anderson does. He just needs to be more consistent and bowl a fuller length more often.

On a side note. What is making James Harris get so many wickets? is he doing anything different? or just another Fast-Medium swing bowler who's just happened to have some good spells in conditions that suit him?

*edit* had a look and found this http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/06/12/scouting_report_james_harris_g.html

I agree on Tremlett's potential and the comparison to Caddick, much like Caddick the natural area he likes to bowl seems to be just a touch too short and wide.
If Caddick had aimed more at the top of off-stump as opposed to a foot over and wide of off stump I believe he had all the tools to become one of the dominant pacemen of our era.

I dont see Tremlett getting any quicker really as his body is mature now and he's already very fit and strong, Id hope that he simply learns to harness his gifts better and bowl more inteligently.

He's always needed to do that, though, and I can't help feeling if he hasn't managed to by now it's fairly unlikely he ever will. It'd be good if he could do, certainly, but my hopes are fading.

Well finally this season we've seen some proper cricket-balls that swing to a decent standard, after 6 barren seasons. Either way, to have the success Harris has at 16-17 is nothing short of astonishing.

Don't give up hope Richard :)
He is aware of the 4 balls and he worked on that between innings at the Oval. He did say he did some mental tinkering and was much improved in the 2nd innings. I think the problem was he was chasing wickets rather than just keeping his concentration level on each ball and restricting the batsmen.

Tremlett seems to not make the batsmen play enough and Sidebottom is the opposite and unlucky not to get wickets so I suppose Anderson thought he needed to make something happen. 8-) He needs to go back to bowling like he did in Mumbai.

By and large he has a bigger problem withthe incoming delivery. Thats the one that gets him by beating him. A lot of his dismisals to the outgoing ones are what one could call 'unforced errors".

Not Terrible
No idea why but Anderson has always reminded me of Franklin while bowling. Crazy perhaps. But as it is well agreed, Franklins not a bad test bowler.

Their actions don't really bear any similarity but in style and substance they resemble each other hugely.

Both very dangerous but very fragile bowlers. Need I say more?

Exactly, totally different look, yet feel very similar. But to be fair to Anderson I think he's the better (due to being a little more reliable) bowler all be told.

I would say that the minimum for a fast bowler would be 1.5 wickets per game. The best ODI bowlers like Bond average 1.92, Lee 1.80 and Bracken1.61. When Anderson has bowled with Hoggard, Gough, Broad, Ali, Caddick, Plunkett and Lewis he has done well (43 matches 80 wickets averaging 1.86) but not with Kirtley, Johnson, Harmison, Wharf, Flintoff, Mahmood and Sidebottom (28 matches 30 wickets averaging 1.07) though Harmison, Flintoff, and Ali have done well without much contribution from Anderson.

Truly mad, the number of bowlers he's opened with. Injuries and retirements (as well as resting in ODIs) will impact, undoubtedly, but that's still more than you'd expect in just 5 years.

Hard to see how thats the case when one is a specialist left handed new ball swing bowler, while the other is a quicker right arm bowler that can get the ball to reverse and occasionally get the new ball to swing as well.
The only similarity i see between the 2 is that both have potential, yet both have been especially ordinary at the international level.
