Sri/Pak/Ban triangular Academy Tournament in Bangladesh

Another left-arm spinner on the rise then. Mosharraf has been around a few years now, without doing too much, but in the absence of Rafique in the Dhaka side this year has given him a breakthrough season.

That's a solid performance from the Bangladeshi bowlers - last year in Pakistan they took a continually pasting.

Very surprised at the bowlers' performance.

This Bangladeshi Academy team is a second string Bangladeshi batting side but a 5th or 6th string Bangladeshi bowling side attack other than Mosharraf.

Pakistan Acadaemy is like a second string Pakistani team according to people in the pakpassion forum.

Have you got the lineups anywhere? I presumed it was a 3rd choice Bangladesh side, if not then that's an exceptional performance given the precedent.

It's close to a second choice batting line up but a very poor bowling attack.

Raqibul Hasan has been having a very good time of it in the longer form of the game.

Raqibul Hasan has been having a very good time of it in the longer form of the game.

He was the first Bangladeshi to score a triple century and has the right temperament for the longer version of the game, which most Bangladeshi batsmen lack.

Indeed, two centuries (one a triple) in only 9 matches is very impressive.

BCA was one batsman short in the second innings. Nasiruddin Faruque hurt his hand while taking a catch during PCA's first innings. He had to be given six stitches, Doctor advised him to rest his hand for next three weeks.

Here are the other players who made some useful contributions other than Raqibul.

Bangladesh Academy

Nazimuddin(21) has improved hugely and is catching up on the lost time. He used to play U-19 cricket with Aftab Ahmed around 2004.

Mosharaff got 7 wickets but as a left arm spinner he is behind Razzak, Rafique and Enamul jr. Shows how much our cricket has improved. A bowler who rarely gets wicket in our domestic cricket tamed some of the best performers of Pakistan's domestic cricket.

Also good to see two seam bowlers Sajidul and Ziaur getting some wickets. Hope this imspires Dollar Mahmud who is also good prospect for us.

Pakistan Academy

Najaf Shah took 7 wickets and he will be soon getting a Pakistan cap.

Fawad Alam also scored some runs and is widely regarded as Inzamam's replacement.

After the evenly contested 4 day matches between Bangladesh and Pakistan Academy team(the series was drawn 1-1), the Sri Lankan Academy team would be coming over to Bangladesh for a tri-series. They would also be playing Bangladesh Academy in two 4 day matches. The Sri Lankan team includes former Sri Lankan international Nuwan Zoysa.
