May be Matt Prior would have been a better choice than Nixon. He scored heavily throughout the series.

Also Adil Rashid has to go a long way before he can be successful against quality oppositins. He gave away 41 runs from his 6 overs.

Good result for cricket. I'm obviously disappointed as an Englishman, but it hopefully shows there's been some improvement in Bangladeshi cricket. It is a genuine Bangladesh "A" too, as opposed to their first team in all but name as has sometimes been the case previously.

Terrible by the standards of a First-Class cricketer.
So what would that make Gerard Brophy,Niall O'Brien and Carl Gazzard? No point in them purseying a career in cricket probably according to you.I've always thought an average of nearly 39 in first class cricket for a wickie meant he was terrible...

It is not embarrassing to lose to this genuine Bangladesh 'A' team as they have recently drawn unofficial test series with Sri lanka 'A' and lost the 'ODI' series 2-1 in home soil about a year ago. They also defeated the Zimbabwean national team one nill in a 2 match series. An all Australian coaching staff looks after this Bnagladesh 'A' team so it is a quite well trained unit. With the end of the series with England 'A', they will be now of to Sri lanka to play Sri Lanka 'A' again in a 2 match 'Test' series and a 3 match 'ODI' series.

They did have six England internationals in Kirtley, Broad, Prior, Bresnan, Loudon and Yardy and future England hopefuls like Adil Rashid.
The fact that every single one of those players has played international cricket (ODIs only in the case of all bar Kirtley) is something of a joke in all cases bar Kirtley.

Rashid is just that - a hope. Nothing more yet.

That's ridiculously harsh. His keeping is clearly short of international standard, but his batting is relatively serviceable at domestic level at least.
And no more than that.

Gazzard is absolutely rubbish and should never, ever be playing First-Class cricket.

Brophy and O'Brien are worthy 2nd-string wicketkeepers - not of the class of Blakey and Geraint Jones.

Blakey retired a couple of years ago...8-)

Bnagladesh lost 80% of their last 20 limited overs matches against the Top 8 and won 95% of their 20 limited overs matches against Zimbabwe, Kenya and the associates. So the difference between Bangladesh and the Top 8 seems less than the difference between Bangladesh and the associates (including Kenya and Zimbabwe). So which opponents should Bangladesh be playing according to you ???
Someone in the middle?

IE, domestic teams from the Full Members.

The difference in class between the Bangladesh and Bangladesh 'A' team is quite significant. Bangladesh 'A' is becoming quite a match for opponents like England 'A' , Sri Lanka 'A', etc. Domestic teams of Sri lanka, New Zealand, England are surely worse than their second string team. So in no way Bangladesh national team should be playing the domestic teams of other test nations. May be the Bangladesh 'A' team can tour the test playing countries and play their domestic teams. Bangladesh deserves to play ODIs with the top nations, hope you get it.

Why does Bangladesh A winning 1 game merit an entire thread?

The fact England A won the 'test' and OD series and that there is already a thread for this series is being ignored.

Talk about blowing things out of proportion.

Some utter tripe being spoken too... Prior and Gazzard, although mediocre, can cut the mustard at FC level.. I just hope we never see them playing for England..
