Never hurt Matt Hayden...Just wondering what people here make of Robin ?
Personally I don't think he'll cut it at international level - his technique is far too front foot based for mine.

I was being sarcastic in reference to a complete player.....I'm not calling a complete player by any stretch, just taking opposition to the fact you said he could only play 1 shot.
Yeah but unlilke Hayden he doesn't have the reach and build to get away with brute force.Never hurt Matt Hayden...
Doesn't matter how pretty or ugly it is. Once it's effective.Forget about cricinfo commentary dude - anyone can pull that out.
Have you seen Loye play a square cut? It's the fugliest thing I've ever seen. Comparing Loye to Uthappa is pretty silly IMO.
It has against quality attacks and/or the swinging ball. The thing about international cricket is that you don't see either very often.Never hurt Matt Hayden...
Yes.Have you seen Loye play a square cut?
But it would've done if there were many quality bowlers in the 2001\02-2004 period.Never hurt Matt Hayden...
At the moment. It has against quality attacks and/or the swinging ball. The thing about international cricket is that you don't see either very often.
No s***, so have I. What's the point of selectively quoting others?Yes.
What was the point in that comment ITFP? He can and does play square-cuts - he just hasn't happened to be gifted many of the requistite deliveries in his ODI career. No s***, so have I. What's the point of selectively quoting others?
If Hayden took his technique to worldclass opening bowlers on neutral pitches, like Ambrose, Walsh, four prong, Donald, etc., he'd be a dead man.Never hurt Matt Hayden...
Huh?What was the point in that comment ITFP? He can and does play square-cuts - he just hasn't happened to be gifted many of the requistite deliveries in his ODI career.
Uthappa doesn't believe in pressure.Does he collapse under pressure like every other subcontinental batsman in the history of cricket?
O...K...Huh?
My original comment was:
"Have you seen Loye play a square cut? It's the fugliest thing I've ever seen."
Clearly, this implies that Loye DOES play square cuts and I HAVE seen him do it - they're just ugly. It's such a simple sentence.
