Australian Cricket .... Beginning of the End ?

I don't think so at all Rich, Symonds has bailed out Australia many times with his powerful batting especially in the middle overs. Symonds bowling also has been adequate and is a far supierior fielder than Watson in ODI's IMO.

Oh, Symonds (post-2003 version) is a WAY better batsman than Watson in ODers, no doubt whatsoever.
But I recall Watson's FC average (after just 3 seasons-ish?) is above 50, Symonds has rarely looked like getting into the mid-40s, never mind the 50s.
Watson, IMO, is likely to turn-out a far better Test batsman than Symonds. That is all.
