You never know, that could be the innings that gets him on track again.

Same fine innings. Didn't realise they had some many pie throwers in Sydney grade.

I think the furthest anyone's gone is saying the best of Grade (Perth) is better than County Second XI stuff...

That's a bit impressive. 12 6s isn't half bad. How good is 1st Grade Cricket?
In Sydney, pretty damn good. It's not first class cricket obviously, but it's pretty serious and a lot of the players have talent. The poorer players in grade would probably be a fair distance behind FC cricket, though.

Anyway, it's impressive, but you get an innings like this every year or two in grade cricket from a quality first class player. Watson scored a triple century and took 7 or 8 wickets in one innings in a grade match a couple of years ago IIRC. Had a few other FC players in it too.

Plus, obviously, Jaques made 190 odd a few days ago for NSW and was already in form.

There are honestly some players who would dominate the county championship still playing grade cricket. As for experience my brother went along with a mate one day when playing league cricket in england to a kent 2nds trial and he was shocked at how terrible the standard was and some of them were players from other counties looking for a county contract at Kent as they were not liking their previous club.

An example of the Standard... Mitchell Claydon from Campbelltown-Camden is a decent Grade player but has never really got a look in for NSW... However he has played 1st Class Cricket for Yorkshire...

Claydon is probably a mid range player...

Claydon was utterly hopeless. We did better with Christopher Elstub and Tim Bresnan.

That was the grand final in Tassie.
