The Strange Death of Indian Cricket

Look I'm a big Fulham fan, but anyone who thinks Football is less boring than Cricket is kidding themselves. Football is a passion just like cricket, you don't watch it because it's exciting.

There are only a few sports in the world that actually get people to goto the stadiums because they are exciting, they are Ice Hockey (canada/usa) Hurling (ire) Australian Rules Football (australia) and League (only in St.Helens and Leeds  )

If India is really converting to Football only because it is more exciting then what's stopping those other sports from moving in?

Ice Hockey is the fastest game in the world and India plays feild hockey the only thing stopping it in India would be the rinks that are needed to play.

Hurling is a simple and fast game played on potches similar to Football pitches. Needs more exposure, but this is huge in a country where Football and Gaelic Football are also big.

Australian Rules has been described as the worlds best spectator sport. In a country of 20 million (Australia) they have the worlds 3rd biggest drawing sporting league of afl. They get more people to these matches than the English Premier League does and there are 5 times more of us than australians!
