Sharjah cup ?

Abdur Rehman Bukahatir said in one of his interviews in 2005 that the tournament stopped because of players demands of highly unaffordable amount of money for playing a tournament in Sharjah. In the past,Pakistani & Indian players used to easily agree playing the whole tournament for 200 to 300$ but now they demand much more than that for a single match. So,thats why it's become difficult for us to organize such tournaments anymore.

Moreover,India's continous refusal to play againt Pakistan in late 1990s & early 2000s also resulted in huge losses for the organisers of Sharjah Cup.

International Coach
I thought that no-one wanted to go back after the match-fixing storm broke.
India refused to go there i believe after that broke out, and as such most of the revenue from the ODI series there was drawn from India, or rather from the huge crowds that flocked in to watch the Indian cricket team especially against Pakistan. Once they refused to do so, the whole thing was always going to go down the drain IMO.
