*Official* Zimbabwe v Pakistan Test Series

Well the batting didn't look very bright....Pakistan are already 285/all out....not ground breaking. But the conditions seemed helpful for bowlers. Still it wasn't satisfactory. Inzi got out to a stupid delivery. Before lunch things weren't looking that bad with Pakistan standing at 217-4 but it was a familiar collapse from them to come down crashing to 285. All depends now on the Zimbabweans batting show.

Well, that's not good at all.

Unless the pitch/conditions are really suiting the bowlers (I've read that they were supposed to on Ceefax) then Pakistan are in severe trouble...

Not a great start for Kamran Akmal either..

More like Inzamam getting out to a stupid delivery unless Blignaut bowled him a peach Anyway good to see Blignaut back, he looked like he was going to quit the game and I heard it was because he was thinking of becoming a professional model...from what I seen...not a good career choice  He's a useful player. I hope Olonga gets back to form again and its very good to see Guy Whittall back as he is an extreamly useful player and after he started failing as an opener (a job he is not really suited to) he got dropped. I think Campell is a bit of a dodgy choice as captain despite what's happened so far...

Interestingly none of the specialists batters (except Elahi) got out cheaply , yet Pakistan ended up with just 285.I think thats primarily because the last 5 batsmen failed to put up a decent fight.Over the years the tailenders had often rescued the Pakistan team with their batting but lately they have been a big dissapointment!
Akmal will get more chances in this tour and hopefully he will perform. Now that Rashid lateef is out of the WC with injury and his career is nearly over, the WK in the WC will either be Akmal or Moin Khan!

Zim 199-6 so far....atleast they will avoid a big first innings deficit, blignaut is playing well here, took some crucial wickets and now is looking good with the bat.

If Akmal keeps well, which he has uptill now then I dont see moin making a come back. If that happens then that would be primarily becuase of his batting talents.
The Pakistani batsmen got themselves in but didn't go on to make it count.

Zimbabwe 225-10
Sami with four wickets, Shoaib three, saqlain two and waqar one. All depends on the batters now to put up a winning target for the zimbabweans. Not a bad effort by zimbabawe to stretch Pakistan though. They have given themselves a good chance. If they could bowl out Pakistan for a low total again they might fancy a chance as well.

Olonga strikes early before close.. Elahi fails again. Zimbabwe need to get stuck into the top order tomorrow morning in order to have a reasonable chance of a result.

I think Saeed Anwar should be brought back and polished til the world cup, thats Pakistans only chance for a succeful opener.

Thats the only person we know is capable for that job.

Warne is just looking more and more washed up...the ear-ring does him no favours, McGrath is just plain evil, if anyone had any sense they wouldn't follow the ball but they allways do and thats why hes successful. He's worked out a way to get wickets, people ought to have worked out how to combat him now...he never changes his methods, he's doing the same as he has been doing basically since he came into Test Cricket and only NZ have worked out that you leave him alone which then makes him mad...then pick him off...

Sami with four wickets
Guess who, before this game, took Sami out of his World XI, and replaced him with Simon Jones?

Personally I think Warne is a top bloke, and the sort I'd share a pint with any time!
