Naw....the solution........bring back HADLEE!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, it would be great to see some youth in the New Zealand side but they must not expose them to soon or else the early failure may scar their careers.:D:lol::D

Technically New Zealand are introducing a new youth player every season...we've seen Ian Butler & Brendon McCullum in recent times who are outstanding players but have had limited chances so far to show some consistency.

Daryl Tuffey, James Marshall, Scott Styris are all playing club cricket in Sydney. That is correct Age_Master.

Thats good to hear that Brendon is keeping, and also good to hear that he is batting in the middle order. He is a far better player batting down the order rather than opening as he did for Otago & NZ last season with a mixture of results.

youth needs to be introduced to the team judiciously - against the right opposition and in their right positions - if the senior players need to shuffle upwards in the order to make way for the newbie to bat at 5 or 6 then so be it - they have the experience to deal with the changes.

I remember a 20 yr old Kenny Rutherford being used as a makeshift opener on his first series (away in the WIndies) - I believe his top score for the series was about 18 with more ducks than scores in the first dozen overs!!!!! It put his career back years and he never showed the same class as an International player as he did in 1st class matches......

IMO the McCullum experiment as ODI opener was a failure, as is the selection of Vincent as ODI 'keeper...nor do I agree with Fleming or Sinclair opening in ODI, although I can live with Vincent as he performs this role in test matches....I would like to see McCullum or any new player (no matter what age) be gven their start in the middle order, unless they are mature & experienced and specialise at the top....

What has Bell's form been like since he was dropped???? Has his technique improved re his footwork direction????

Great to hear that McCullum has been continuing his good form from his stint up here .......

what has the form of the other guys been like in Sydney - I am curious as to what Styris now plays as - specialist bat or batting allrounder (I still think of him more still as a bowler who has scored some runs)!!!!!

Styris has been solid without outstanding, opening the batting and bowling first change

Yea i reckon u are right there tim , callum should be tried a bit more down the order where he might prove more useful instead of flemming at 3 or 4 get flemming to open so he can go out faster .. or do something better

I see James Marshall has been averaging 50 for his Sydney club which is good news. I rate James Marshall & I think he started to come of age last season with that big double century in March.

Alot of people say his brother Hamish is good but its James who has been putting the consistent scores up & I think if NZ continue to struggle with openers, J.Marshall could be in line alongside Tim McIntosh & Richard Jones.

Tim McIntosh placed for a local Shropshire Club side, Shifnal, where I practised with County Squad and I saw him in the nets and bowled at him. He looked very strong defensivily but although he didn't set the world on fire he was quite consistant and even bowled well through the season. I wouldn't say he looked International Standard but he definatly acted like a Pro. But if he's good enough he'll have a go...if he becomes famous...I've got his sitniture 1st :P

Yeah Tim has been a little inconsistent with the bat for Auckland. However he hits 4 or 5 very big hundreds & thats why he's in the frame for test selection.

let me start of with a new question saying

Which teams by the looks of their squad are likely to be facing of each other in the finals in both versions of the game ?
