Razzaq is a very good batsman. The decline of his bowling has been one of the biggest disappointments for me over the years. The reasons for it are pretty enigmatic, I think. He's the best exponent of reverse swing in the team at the moment.

I remember that at one point he was so good that Sachin called him the most dangerous bowler in the world. I want the old Razzaq back :(

Me too. It wasn't as if his batting was any less dangerous - I will never forget the way he carted McGrath for five fours in an over during the Carlton & United series of 99/00 - some of the best batting I have seen.

Maybe it’s his diet, must be hard maintaining one’s fitness levels and strength when all you eat is spinach.

I think he's generally rated better for his batting. I certainly love watching him bat, just as long as it's not kiwi bowlers he's facing :)

I remember when Ind and Pak toured Aus in 99. Razzzq kept getting Sachin out in ODI's he got him out in 3 or 4 occasions.
His bowlign has declined but he's still good all-rounder tho. Problay won't get the most wikcets either.

He is underrated as an all-rounder, I would say he is the 2nd best all-rounder in Odi's after Freddy.

I think hes underrated with the ball in Tests too. He has a knack for making crucial breakthroughs, and is quite an effective option for the captain to take the pace off the ball. I don't think hes quite good enough to be selected for his bowling alone, but I think hes quite possibly the closest thing to an effective specialist medium pacer in the world right now.

To answer the question - no way.

Murali will pass Wasim. 82 wickets, even for a bowler who doesn't take them quite so frequently any more, isn't that much. Next year is a world cup year, and even in non World Cup years he's averaging about 25 wickets a year at the moment. I expect Murali will play on to the 2011 WC, and should pass Wasim fairly comfortably.

Who says he isn't going to increase on his wickets per match ratio?
The statistic that shows that his bowling has been far more consistently rubbish than not over recent years?

Are we sure he's 26? Had a hard life if he is.... :whistling
Well Arjen Robben is supposedly 22, so I go along with Abdul's age. Funny how it is only people from perceived ********* that the age question arises...

"perceived *********" ?

It's the hairloss with Robben tho, I reckon. Razzaq's thatch resolutely untouched by the ravages of male-pattern baldness.

Pakistanis may just look "old" for their age from an European point of view, I suppose, but the fact that Waqar (for example) was gone from the game by the age of 32 & Razzaq's bowling has declined (by common consent) at an age when one reasonably expect him to be still improving gives me grounds for a certain scepticism sometimes.

The word was **** hole. But in regard to Robben, his hair-loss adds to it but he does have the face of a middle age man. Was strange seeing him play when he was sixteen and looking like this...

Also regarding Waqar being gone at thirty two, means nothing really, that should be doubtlessly due to injuries. These a good chance Michael Owen will be finished time his twenty eight.

Harsh, IMHO. Looks older than his years tho, I'll give you that.

Why don't you think so. Warne has proved that age doesn't matter, and Razzaq isn't going to get much slower in the next few years.
Yeah but Warne's a freak, and his run up consists of four slow ambling steps. Bit harder for a pace-bowling all-rounder who, whilst good, isn't a freak.

Whether he will break Akram's record or not i dont know, One thing i know is that he is world class allrounder one of the best in modern time, and i hope he keeps playing for many years to come
