No Marc this week, so I will have to live and die by my own sword. A little late, and still not much cricket on.

We would love some help, especially from someone who follows the fortunes of one of the subcontinent teams, you would only have to pick a couple of awards each week

    The CW Awards Team

    Alternative (milestones)
    Marc (awards judge)
Aussie Dominance (Sobers and Gatting/Rana awards judge)
Archie (whatever else is left over)

If you are celebrating a “Posts” milestone this week, please let Manju (Alternative) know, you can contact him at hunterbhai at hotmail dot com

If you would like to discuss anything to do with the awards, please let me know, you can contact me on kehlers at iprimus dot com dot au

If you notice a post or thread that you think is worthy of an award please contact Marc at marc at robbins46 dot freeserve dot co dot uk

If you notice any nominees for the Sobers or best debate awards please let Justin know at
    rusty_492 at hotmail dot com

    Best of The Best

    1. Shahid Afridi Award for (Best post of the week) Like an innings by the great man, it does not have to be very long, to be great viewing. And the Winner is: LongHopCassidy for this click here A close run thing this week, a couple of quality posts both for and against the captaincy of SRW

    2. Shane Warne Award for (Best thread of the week) Like his bowling it must be interesting but just like his private life it can also be controversial. And the Winner is Turbinator for this click here , Why not China, it would be good to see

    3. The Skull Award (Funniest poster for the week) Just like the king of the one liner Kerry O’Keefe, can also be serious. And the Winner is: LongHopCassidy for this click here Even though it was from today, and should strictly not be considered, it made me laugh. Still a good idea for a thread imo

    4. The Sobers Award (Most varied poster of the week) The true all-rounder of CW you must be able to contribute to a number of threads. And the Winner is: silentstriker , he loves to win, and contributes a lot to the site, with a skin as thick as a Rhino.

    5. Tony Greig Award (Worst prediction of the week) Will he ever live down that ‘We will make them grovel’ prediction re- the West Indies? And the Winner is: No award this week , I thought we would have one from the ICC CT but the thread has not been opened yet?

    6. Inzamam Award (Vaguest poster of the week) We are not sure what he is talking about, but we hope he knows. And the Winner is: Turbinator click here
You will have to explain this one to me, why would writing left handed enable him to write faster?

    7. The Sir Geoffrey Award (Most knowledgeable poster of the week) We were going to call this the Richie Benaud award, but after speaking to Boycs, he assured us he new twice as much as Richie. And the Winner is: Lillian Thomson, knows his stuff but does not post enough for mind (is it mind or mine?)

    8. The Bradman Award (Overall CW poster of the week) Simply the best no matter what the debate or criteria. And the Winner is: No award this week. Can someone please email me next week if they think someone deserves this award. And no you can’t nominate yourself SS

Agarkar/Mohammed award for ('At least their trying' award)
just like the players this award is named after, they may not be quite good enough for any other award, but at least we remember them. And the Winner is: pietersenrocks, Two user names but only one award

    10. The Patrick Eagar award for great photography, because we have named this
award after the greatest cricket action photographer, it will only be awarded when someone reaches a high standard of snaps. And the Winner is: No award this week

The Gatting V Rana award for the best debate of the week, and the winners are: Is Ganguly one of the greatest click here Good debate generated by this thread. Some of his off side shots were just about the best I have seen from a lefty

Please remember, these awards are not officially endorsed by CW management
    You know it makes sense.

Damn you Archie! No-one likes to be on the fall guy for the Skull - particularly as its one award that's eluded me to date. I was going to nominate it for a Skull in the thread to try and jinx it.

Still, well done LongHop and all the other winners!

Well tbh Marc usually picks the Skull, so if you want to win convict jokes tend to go down well

You know, I haven't won the Bradman yet. But I'll take the Sobers.

Though, I'm kind of at the fact that I can't nominate myself. I was writing a nice little CGI script to nominate myself automatically every time I post. I mean thats what, 20 emails a day? Thats not spamming.

I reckon SS could have been close to a Bradman this week - he's been on fire!

If it means anything, Matt, you make an excellent straight man!

It's yours for the taking next week.

Yes he has had a couple of good weeks, but may need an Afridi to take out the Bradman

Oops - I meant the Bradman. Though the implication of me having a 'couple good weeks' means that I haven't always been brilliant...which I would say is heresy.
