Is Mohd Sami a love child of Imraan

I think I agree with Imran a bit. Sami has a lot of potential, but needs the kind of guidance Wasim, Waqar, and Aaqib recieved when they were coming on to the international scene.

Not to mention that Sami has received guidence. Imran himself has spent time with him. He's also had Waqar as the bowling coach. And even Aaqib Javed was a stone's throw away as the bowling coach of the National Academy. And I'm sure Wasim would've been more than happy to help if Sami asked. In the end, I still say that Sami has had his chances and it's time to move on.

Its amazing how much all the Aussies are carrying on about how much he's helped them. Almost like they had no coach at all previously - and from what's being said, they did have a need for one.

According to Imran someone like Troy Cooley might make the difference.
Exactly what I meant. From what I've heard, bowling coaches at NCA aren't all that great of coaches. As for Asif, the only coach he needed was self-determination. You can't compare him to Sami.

In the subcontinent, there is really a dearth of good coaching at all levels. Rather than boosting national player salaries, or making 22 committees on random items, thats where the money could be spent.

Is this just one of those random assumptions you make because it makes sense or have you actually experienced the coaching system in the subcontinent?

I agree with you, btw. :)

Karachi: Imran Khan on Tuesday said the national selectors had made a big mistake by not including fast bowler Mohammed Sami and leg-spinner Danish Kaneria as replacements for Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Asif.

Although I do agree that Sami is underrated in ODIs, I think picking him would have been a mistake. We need to get new blood in, and the selection of Arafat does just that.

I think Kaneria though deserved another chance. Looking at his domestic record, Abdur Rehman doesn't seem to look too hot. I highly doubt that he could do more on a helpful pitch than Kaneria, and although Kaneria's ODI record isn't too hot either, I don't think there is any reason he can't be successful in the shorter form of the game.

Imran analysis for last night' game was absolutley brilliant but then towards the end of the show he ruined it all by saying only Sami would have been able to compensate Shoaib's lethal pace.

The show looks good only when Imraan is there, hearing Moin Khan's analysis is like watching paint dry.

i don't agree totally with imran that sami would be as good as shoaib but if he would have been in team he would have done at least much better than rana and anjum. about kunaria pakistan dosn't need a spacialist spiner. guys like shahid afridi, shoiab malik, mohmad hafiz they can do much better in the team than any spacialist spiner right now. instead they should have put shahid nazir there. sami and shahid nazir would have been a good replacement for asif and shoiab. iam not saying they are as good as asif and shoiab but for pakistan much better option than other once.
