100 1st Class Hundreds

PhoenixFire

International Coach
The liklihood of any player nowadays (with the exeption of Hick and Ramprakash) of getting 100 first class Hundreds, is very remote, but in your opinion, who of the current players do you think would be most likely to make it, had the season been 1936 rather than 2006?

I'd say an accumulator like Bell or Cook would be the best bets. Mind you, IIRC Strauss's test 50-100 conversion rate is second only to Sir Donald, so a case could be made for him too.The trouble nowadays is that since the advent of central contract, if you're a batter at the top of your game you hardly ever appear in the CC.

He's only 27, so is Fat Bob (Key) a chance of actually doing it? He's always made hay with county attacks & isn't likely to be getting an England recall any time soon. 30 FC centuries only tho, so has a loooong way to go.

To be fair Andy, they have their fair share of injuries and are up against a very strong Pakistani side. ;)
