The Battle of the Englishmen

Perm

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Hobbs. One of the greatest first class batsman ever, and a pretty handy test one too.

International Regular
Hobbs.

Barnes was a little too much of a prima donna, and did not play enough FC matches - let alone test matches - to really compare to Hobbs.

Hobbs was the consummate professional.

John Berry Hobbs for me.

Wonder if he ever went by that name.

"Where's Judy? She's over talking to the boys & Berry..."
"So who drew the short straw? Berry?"

...that's enough.

Hobbs for me.
