Anyone heard about the ODI series between India, West indies and Australia?

I happy to see mongia in the squad after his performance in England recently. But I highly doubt he will get to play a lot of matches. There is no room for him at the moment, and now that Sachin is back, it makes it even harder for him. The squad is

Rahul Dravid (capt), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh, Ramesh Powar, Ajit Agarkar, Munaf Patel, Rudra Pratap Singh, Dinesh Mongia

Dravid, Sehwag, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Dhoni, are in for sure.

Now the fights between Raina, Kaif, and Mongia. Out of all three of them I think Kaif will get the chance in the first couple of matches.

I'm pretty sure India will not go with seven specialist batsman because there is option of two all rounders. So most likely its going to be 6 batsman 1 all rounder and 4 bowlers.

If Kaif fails, then in my opinion the sel. replace him with Raina before Mongia. And if Raina fails then comes Mongias chance...which I don't see any hope for.

Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dravid and Yuvraj are certainties at the top. Dhoni is another lock in the middle-order. While Pathan and Sreesanth will share the new ball, the first-change seamer's spot could be filled by Agarkar, Munaf or RP Singh, in that order. Harbhajan will be the first-choice spinner and Powar will also play in the first match IMO. Kaif will also start out at the #5 spot in the lineup. As soon as Powar fails, we could see the return of Mongia. Meanwhile, Kaif will also be on his toes as Raina will be ready for his opportunity. The seamers, Powar and Kaif will feel the most pressure for their spots.

agarkar has always managed to get jayasuriya out everytime he has faced SL. Considering the ODI form that jaya is in and with his past performance against India, India should play agarkar just to bowl at jayasuriya and hide him against the rest of the line up.

Surely you mean SL line-up hide from AA?

i just loooked at his career numbers against SL, and it is really good. 46 wickets in 21 games at an average of 19.23. He has dismissed jayasuriya 9 times, tharanga once, jayawardene 4 times, and sangakarra once. Also kalu 6 times and attapatu 5 times, I knew that SL's openers didnt have much success when agarkar played, but i didnt think that he had been that good.

SA likely to bounce back from the Test series and IMO will be certainly strong contenders given their amazing performance V Australia . Will Kallus return for the ODIs ?

My money on SA v India/SL in the final . India will be boosted by Sachin's return and they will be trying to put behind their poor showing against WI in the Caribbean.

I hope SL can maintain its form from England . Unfortunately they will be against 2 of the best bowling sides in ODIs unlike the opposition in England. But home advantage is in their favour.

Atapattu set to return for the Tri Series and will bat at No.5 , Mahela to continue on as Captain.

IMO, Mahela should remain Captain from hereon regardless of Atapattu's position in the Team.

I agree, Jayawardene has done a good job of the captaincy and should be allowed to keep that position of responsibility. Attapatu will probably retire after the World Cup so it just gives them some time for Jayawardene to build his team and their confidence.

My Team's for the First ODI

    Sri Lanka
    1. Jayasuriya
    2. Tharanga
    3. Jayawardene
    4. Sangakkarra
    5. Atapattu
    6. Dilshan
    7. Maharoof
    8. Vaas
    9. Fernando
    10. Muralitharan
    11. Malinga

If Fernando is unavailable then play Bandara, I also wouldn't be suprised if they try Kapugedara.

    South Africa

    1. Dippenaar
    2. Hall
    3. Gibbs
    4. Prince
    5. de Villiers
    6. Boucher
    7. Pollock
    8. van der Wath
    9. Telemachus
    10. Nel
    11. Ntini

I'm not quite sure about the SA line up, mainly because I don't know too much about some of there players and whether or not they are likely to play. Also Ntini may not be fit and opening with Hall was a bit of a gamble, but a move that could possibly happen.
