    ICC adopts gender recognition policy

I must've missed the clamour for cricket loving transsexuals to be allowed to play our sport in their assumed gender, but good for them anyway!

Maybe a chance for the truly committed to finally represent their country, it just requires the old fella being flayed & turned inside out, after all. Come on, how badly do you want it....?

    From the ICC's site:

    http://www.icc-cricket.com/icc-news/...ry/252701.html

The CEC also adopted the ICC Gender Recognition Policy thus enabling cricketers who have undergone gender reassignment surgery to play women's cricket at international level providing they meet the required criteria.

The adoption of such a policy follows the ICC's integration with the International Women's Cricket Council (IWCC) in 2005 and brings it into line with other international sporting organisations including the International Olympic Committee and the International Association of Athletics Federations.

    - As featured in The Independent.

"as much a news event as an actual footballer, a worthy stop-start centre forward, but an all-time hyper-galactico when it comes to doing funny things with cars and hats, a player whose signing proves once again that the Premier League is still undoubtedly the best in the world when it comes to doing things with cars and hats."

Martin Crowe retired from Cricket due to struggling form thought to have been brought on by lot of Journos and fellow cricketers raising issues about his sexual orientation !!

While I feel sorry for him over the whole issue , May be there will be a role for him in the NZ womens Team after few snips and cuts and growing lot more hair or wearing a wig - perhaps a Martha Crowe ?

Just because you are a resident in our country, it does not mean you can rewrite history. He retired because of his knee, which had degenerated beyond belief.

That's what was claimed officially . But there was lot of pressure on him over what I mentioned previously and there definitely was speculation from what I have heard(from my sources who are 3rd 4th generation Kiwis. ) that it was this more than anything that caused his premature retirement . But may be they were merely speculating .
