Itstl that Boult is Howsie's guess. I guess that would require a test squad of the last XI + Watling + Nethula + his earlier WTF tip McClenaghan, or Wagner.

This would actually be in keeping with their really narrow, 'deck-kissing, new ball wicket-taker' stated M.O. for Boult, and they'll probably point to fleeting or non-existent conventional swing in the WI as well.

Southee still playing for Essex this season? Needs some FC obviously - not just limited overs.

John Bracewell doing more for NZ cricket coaching Gloucestershire than he ever did coaching NZ . Maybe they'll pick up Rob Nicol to replace Williamson.... Tho I guess he's still likely to be wanted for Windies limited overs.

It makes sense though doesn't it?

He's not going to be involved in any of the limited overs cricket like say Tim Southee might. He's also not going to be in the playing XI come the first test in what looks like at this stage a two test match series. He'd be far better off being sent over to England for half a season playing county cricket as opposed to twiddling his thumbs all winter and maybe playing one test at the end of the tour (big maybe too)

Gloucestershire want an opening bowler and New Zealand want to help fast track a younger players development by sending someone over. Perfect match afaic.

True, and would give him some experience with the Duke and English conditions as well less than a year out from our tour. As long as we don't have someone in the 14 who's back bowling like a fringe Firebird selection by late July, and Chris Martin back to looking an innocuous 37-year-old headband wearer on pitches offering him nothing. Going on recent games in Antigua and Jamaica though we're playing two spinners both times for sure anyway.

Only two WI tests looking certain now btw, can quote the series sponsor -

The second half of the Digicel Series 2012 (West Indies vs. New Zealand), encompasses five One Day Internationals, one T20 match and two Test Matches. The tentative dates for the New Zealand tour are from Sunday 1st July through to Thursday 2nd August, and venues will be announced at a later date.

No I doubt it this year, considering U19 WC in Townsville, Aus A going to England in late July.

Phlegm may hope this doesn't pan out, but get the feeling Suckstill's attitude towards being a pro is so good and his love of batting is so strong, that he may average about 70 against second-tier bowling for the rest of his career.

Also have to say the Brits in general are doing awesome cricket coverage. Sky Sports going to the trouble of keeping Coney in the studio throughout the night for NZ's games, regular highlights and analysis in the lunch or tea breaks to get you up to speed. The ECB now doing edited highlights packages of every game, with a summarising commentator.
