Why was Pakistan chosen for the venue Champions trophy?
http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/****...ry/245875.html
I apologize for the ignorance, isn't it a dangerous place for the most part? What was the criteria for choosing a venue for a major event? |

Major tours have taken place in Pakistan without a hassle recently (including Eng and Ind). Pakistan has the facilities/venues to host such an event. They have a cricket-mad population that will support the event (ODI's usually sell out in Pak). Just in case, security would be tight as usual. I don't see why Pakistan should not host it.

If India can play in Pakistan without any incident, its a cakewalk for the rest of the teams. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to stick their heads out of the sand a bit more frequently. |

Just found this, highly interesting IMO, because I don't remember anyone else complaining until fairly soon before the event.
