Left Handed Indian XI

ramkumar_gr

U19 Vice-Captain
Two Indian XIs,one with everyone batting left-handed.
and the other with everyone bowling left-handed.

The limited choice means India will go down as one of teams, having fielded the least number of players who would bat left-handed. Though there are quite a few of them who bowls left-handed.

All left handed batsmen XI:
Gautham Gambhir
S Ramesh
V Kambli
S Ganguly
Parthiv Patel
Yuvraj Singh
Karsan Ghavri
Sunil Joshi
M Karthik
Rashid Patel
Dilip Joshi

All left handed Bolwers XI:
Ravi Shashtri
W V Raman
Yuvraj Singh
H Badani
Ajay Sharma
Parthiv Patel
Bishen Singh Bedi
Maninder Singh
Aashish Nehra
Zaheer Khan
Dilip Joshi

Was this thread really necessary? Anyways, try an overall left-handed XI ... for example, Zaheer bats right-handed and bowls left-handed, but his main skill is the latter so he's considered a southpaw (lefty).

How about this XI, if we go by the primary skills as you said

Ravi Shastri
S Ramesh
V Kambli
S Ganguly
Yuvraj Singh
Parthiv Patel
Karsan Ghavri
Dilip Joshi
Bishen Singh Bedi
Aashish Nehra
Zaheer Khan

Pathan ahead of Nehra easily.

If Parthiv makes any sort of all-time XI, we really have issues as a cricketing nation.

But was there any other Indian keeper, who batted left-handed.

Just include another batsman and make Ganguly keep. He can't field anyways, might as well make him do the dirty work.8-)

That will definitely be better.

Parthiv Patel will go down as one of the worst wicket keepers' of all time. India failed to beat australia in australia because of him and also lost to Australia in India because of him. I watched him play the recent Board Presidents XI, he is the same Parthiv which we saw in the past. He has not improved a bit. But strangely he is the 2nd choice wicket keeper for India for reasons beyond comprehension. What wrong as Dinesh Kaarthick done. He is a far better wicket keeper and as good a bat as Patel , if not better.

Also remember Kambli keeping wickets in one of the matches where the main keeper was injured during the match.

Parthiv didn't look too bad to me in that warm-up match. Didn't mess anything up, but didn't do anything impressive either. With the bat, he's test-class but horrendous in the shorter form, has no power whatsoever. Karthik should be ahead of him both on wicketkeeping and batting accounts.

this 2-year old ****** parthiv patel is the worst cricketer ever to have played in even first-class cricket. its time parthiv patel was banned from all forms of cricket and all test matches played by him declared unofficial.

i would go in with anybody keeping as long as parthiv doesnt keep. parthiv, has cost india 3 series wins and 2 of them against australia with his poor keeping. his 3rd series costing was against new zealand in 2003. if parthiv hadnt played in the 2004 series, cant understand how come this 2-year old ****** got in there after dinesh kartik had taken ind to a sensational odi win against eng on his keeping alone. he stumped micheal vaughan and that was a type stumping which parthiv can only dream of. i would have included dinesh kartik in the team for that stumping alone. even if dinesh kartik made 8 ducks in the series, still he would have prevented over a 50-100 runs and taken some stunning catches and amazing stumpings. in the hope of getting 40-50 more runs with the bat, we lost over 400-500 runs with the ball in the series as parthiv dropped atleast a 100 times more catches than what he took.
