Hmm, he still managed to play some damn good innings. I could give you many other players who played bad, inexplicable, strokes.

Hayden has also played some damn good innings. If I had to choose I'd take Slater, I just didn't like how hot-headed he was.

I struggle to think of that many especially good innings Hayden has played, outside the India tour of 2000\01 and the Sri Lanka 2003\04 one.
