The old man picked up this for me at a second book store, which was very nice of him:

Has some very nice images, although colour photography has clearly come a long way.

Just joined this forum & what an excellent forum it is. Just been reading through the last couple of hours some very interesting stuff. Anyway this link was great because ive been after a few cricket books for a while. Just ordered 8 from amazon which should keep me going they are
1-Beyond the boundary
2-Many a slip
3- The art of captaincy (Mike Brearley)
4-Michael Atherton biog
5-Penguins Stopped play
6-Rain men
7- A lot of Hard Yakka (simon Hughes)
8- Being Freddie
Got the whole lot for £30 which included P&P, have a feeling im gonna be doing a lot of reading the next few months.

Other than the Atherton and Flintoff books, I have read all the others and must compliment you on the selection.

Numbers 1, 3, 6 and 7 are absolutely fabulous books.

Welcome to the forum, I have only read four of those, 1,2,4 & 7, and enjoyed them all, I imagine 'Being Freddie' will be the 8th best on that list

Just finished 10 Great Innings by Ralph Barker. I enjoyed it very much. He describes the play in great detail - at times describing every run - and manages to convey the context, the atmosphere and the greatness of each innings.
