Who would you pick in a combined England-Pakistan XI?

magsi23

U19 Debutant
For me

1 Trescothick
2 Butt
3 Inzy
4 Yousuf
5 Bell
6 Afridi
7 Akmal
8 Flintoff
9 Akhtar
10 Harmison
11 Kaneria

Personaly i think this team would be better than world XI

I'd have to say Hoggard's in better form than Harmison atm...
Strauss over Butt,
And i'm tempted to see Geriant in there but not sure if i can justify it

The first four I would pick would be....... Sachin, Lara, Warne and Murali....in order not to get into an argument with their devotees

Just say it, "because he's English". I really can't see any other reason you'd want him in there.

Anyway mine would be (This isn't based on the recent series, but overall what I'd probably like to see)

Trescothick
Strauss
Younis Khan
Yousuf
Inzy (c)
Flintoff
Afridi
Kamran Akmal (wk)
Shoaib
Harmison
Kaneria

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
I was actually conflicted on where to bat Afridi. You're probably right however, as batting Freddy at 7 would give him more of a rest considering his bowling.

Vaughan ahead of Younis Khan maybe?
tough to pick a clear winner out of these two but younis khan learns to build on his numerous starts he certainly be a better player at the end of both player career. Vaughan's batting has dropped off considerably since his golden patch in australia and will only get 1 or 2 really high scores in sequence with a lean trot. Great captain, tho

ClownSymonds

U19 Vice-Captain
1. Anwar (he's got a massive beard)
2. Butt
3. Younis
4. Yousuf
5. Inzamam-ul-Haq
6. Clown (he was born in England, so he qualifies)
7. Akmal
8. Razzaq
9. Naved-ul-Rana
10. Akhtar
11. Kaneria

And none of em play for England... Oh well. Only the best can make it on the team.

If Vaughan is fit, he would replace Shoaib Malik or Kevin Pietersen depending on whether the team needs Malik's off spin or not ?
