This sounds like an attempt to actually run the numbers though, which makes it not very Richard-like at all.

If you see some merit in the idea of counting chances fair enough but remember the big problem at the time was that he never calculated stuff, he just guessed.

There's occasionally talk of Cricinfo taking points from here, but they really should have in this case. Good luck to them quantifying the luck from a drop catch and those borderline no-ball decisions where no one really knows if the foot has crossed the line.
