Here's a poser??

My greatest NZ test team of all-time

Glenn Turner
John Wright
Andrew Jones
Martin Crowe
Stephen Fleming (c)
Chris Cairns
Richard Hadlee
Ian Smith (w.k)
Daniel Vettori
Shane Bond
Jack Cowie

My question is .....How do you think the above team would fair against the current English or Australian test teams????

I would say it would give both teams a good run for their money. Too close to call, IMO. I still think their lack of a really world class spinner might affect them.

In my opinion, and it's only an opinion, you can't ever leave Bert Sutcliffe, Donnelly or John R. Reid out of an all-time NZ side, and this side woiuld be stronger with them in it. They are absolute legends.

I would put up.....

1. Charles Dempster
2. Glen Turner
3. Bert Sutcliffe
4. Martin Crowe
5. John Reid
6. Bevan Congdon
7. Bruce Taylor
8. Chris Cairns
9. Richard Hadlee
10. Ian Smith
11. Jack Cowie/Shane Bond

....and expect them to wipe the floor with any team in the world today.

PS On a really hostile wicket, I may drop Taylor or Cairns and include both fast bowlers at number 11

On a wicket expected to take spin, I would take Vettori and make the same change as far as dropping is concerned.
