Ive never been a fan of having Coventry open - I think he'd be better suited to the middle order really.

Anyway, if I were to pick a team, I would have a wastly different side, starting with Blignaut opening the batting. But the fact is, it simply doesnt happen. In the minds of the selectors ATM, I think Vusi would open.

Given the choice though (and keeping in mind that Vermeulen, Wishart, Carlisle, Rogers and Feirerra are no longer eligible due to not having a contract..)

1. Brendan Taylor
2. Andy Blignaut
3. Hamilton Masakadza
4. Tatenda Taibu
5. Charles Coventry
6. Heath Streak
7. Sean Williams
8. Gavin Ewing
9. Blessing Mahwire
10. Prosper Utseya
11. Douglas Hondo

SuperSub: Elton Chigumbura

I'd basically still go with your logic of replacing Vusi with Chigumbura, but I'd open with Andy instead of Coventry. I'd also leave Chigumbura as supersub and have Sean Williams in the starting side, as I believe Williams is a more technically correct batsman. If Zim havent lost many wickets though, and they need a quick scorer in the death overs rather than a nurdler like Williams, then Chigumbura can come on for him. Hed obviously come on for Hondo if Zim bowled first, giving them a very long batting lineup with still seven bowling options.

Shahadat Hossain would get a game of Haque in most circumstances.

And I still think he'd probably get a game over Rasel in the subcontinent.

Malinga twice?? I think the first one is meant to be Fernando, as you didnt list Fernando in the backups.

Banks has probably been West Indies' second best player through all this Digicel stuff, yet he cant even get a mention as a reserve?!?!

Second best player with five Test wickets @ 37? For a spinner in Sri Lanka? Surely Ramdin's keeping and batting means that he was second-best?

He should maybe be mentioned over Ryan Hinds, though. And as an ODI bowler over Lawson.

In the test series against Sri Lanka, he finished 5th in the batting averages and 4th in the bowling averages.

In the Indian Oil Cup, he finished 6th in the batting averages and 1st in the bowling averages. He also finished 1st in the economy rates barring Morton who only bowled 2 overs.

Second best player may have been a bit of a stretch, but he outperformed Deonarine and he is surely ahead of Hinds. He really should be in the ODI team IMO - perhaps as supersub.

Didnt they recently sack half those players, including the captain, and appoint Steve Massiah captain?
