Cricinfo classics

Barney Rubble

International Coach
Cricinfo has given us some classic commentary moments in the last couple of years - let's dig out some of the best ones, there's plenty of mistakes and comedy moments from the archives I'm sure. Here's one to get us started:

Cricinfo said:
53.3 Taibu to Jayasuriya, OUT: outside off, gets bounce, hit the top
shoulder of the bat, loops up to gully, Captain, batsmen, keeper
and now bowler gets the wicket

Sri Lanka 281/1, Partnership of 281
ST Jayasuriya c Hondo b Taibu 157 (147b 19x4 3x6)
MS Atapattu 117* (177b 16x4) T Taibu 0.3-0-4-1

suddenly we see 2 slips in again
Now taibu just needs to bowl both ends, keep in between, and bat at
number 1 through 11 and we could have a game

There was a West Indian commentator (during the England tour of WI, I think) who was quite brilliant. Might dig up some of the commentary later.

4.3 McGrath to Strauss, no run, closer to the off and a touch fuller, Strauss gropes awkwardly for that one like an adolescent in the back row of a cinema, lucky not to get an edge!

Let me take this opportunaty of thanking you all for the comments mailed through, I have enjoyed the interactiveness of this test commentary and hope you will join me again during the one-dayers. And to all those wondering I am not from West Indies and actually a South African. I hope my bias towards the West Indies has not upset too many of you

Can anyone out there gives us any indication what the point is of this Test continuing, apart from that the ICC says it must

49.2 Pathan to Masakadza, OUT: good length delivery, pitched in line and
straightened, Masakadza plays down the wrong line and the ball

Wonder if the cricinfo commentators came up with some thing funny when catches were dropped off 3 consecutive balls of an Indian bowler yesterday.

No.

31.4 Khan to Blignaut, no run, pitched up outside the off stump,
Blignaut jams his bat down and the ball flies off the edge but
Jadhav at second slips fails to hold on to a fairly easy chance!
31.5 Khan to Blignaut, two runs, dropped again! this time it is Sehwag
at third slip who fails to hold on to a low catch, Blignaut lives
on
31.6 Khan to Blignaut, no run, would you believe it! another chance goes
begging, this time it's Karthik's turn, Zaheer Khan is livid -
three catches dropped in three balls
